Thank you so very much for gathering with us and we hope to see you each and every week at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We can’t wait to see what you share.
How is your summer going?
I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over again:
”It is so hot!”
Here are a few of my recent finds and favorites that I can highly recommend.
Reading and falling in love with a book is such a personal thing.
We all have our own touch point- that moment while reading
when we think ‘wow!’.
In recommending The Nightingale, I know I am late to the game,
but while listening to it as an audio book
on a long car trip to and from El Paso, I fell in love.
If you haven’t read it, I recommend the audio version.
I downloaded the novel onto my phone for free from our public
library.
The quality and skill of the audio narrator Polly Stone is exceptional.
In fact , I enjoyed her reading so much, I am looking for other
audio books narrated by her.
On the shopping front, during our two weeks away, my daughter Lauren and I drove
to Ruidoso, New Mexico to a shop I have wanted to visit for a very long time-
Oh my.
If you love silver jewelry that is large and over the top, as I do,
visit her web site. I bought the two pieces above to add to a Virgen de Guadalupe ring I
found at Round Top several years ago.
And lastly, who doesn’t want something cold?
These Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars in mint chocolate
chip are to die for- and they are only 100 calories-
if that matters .
I hope you are having a wonderful summer.

And yes- the De‘Carol jewelry is as big as it looks .
It becomes real clear for me when it involves our grandsons.
If possible, I drop everything and go.
I go because being with them and watching them play
baseball is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
It means that when the oldest (above ) who is playing in a four day tournament
goes out on the mound to pitch- I want to capture every single moment.
It means when the youngest leans up against me and says,
“Madu, can I buy a water?”, I would willingly buy him three.
There are things on hold at home.
No doubt my zinnias and tomatoes are suffering.
I have another teacher training to conduct this month in Laredo.
My father’s business affairs are ongoing.
The garage needs organizing.
And then of course there is blogging- which my heart wants to do in a way
that is appealing to whomever stops by to visit.
Instead dear friends,
I am going to watch baseball.
I know you would do exactly the same thing.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Welcome! White Spray Paint is all about enjoying the simple things in life. Whether I am writing about my adventures at the flea market, or writing my Dear Daughters' posts, or sharing a new Ranch Recipe, or tackling a new gardening project, I am usually laughing along the way and enjoying the journey. Why the name White Spray Paint? Because my mother taught me years ago in home decor, 'when all else fails Laura Ellen, spray paint it white'. It is a description of those simple pleasures that you will find here. Won't you join me? I hope so!
Laura
