Gardening Finds and Favorites

Rose Food
Finds

This past weekend, along with working in my parents’ home (thank you for your wonderful comments), was a

weekend full of gardening.

Does anyone else feel behind? How is it April?  What happened to March?

One of my tasks was to feed and dead head my roses, and I wanted you to know about this rose food.

It is the BEST. I promise.

It is manufactured by a company called Maestro Gro in Hamilton,Texas.

I buy mine at a small nursery in Three Rivers, Texas.

This time of year my favorite time of day
is right at dusk.

There is still enough light to work in the garden,

but it is dark enough that I can turn on the little white lights

in my garden shed.

It is a humble place, but
as you know by now, that is my

favorite kind.

I have posted reminders

to keep things simple while

I think,

plan,

work, pray.

Thinking simply is not always automatic for me, but enjoying simple things is.

This shed is also where I play my IPod loudly,

dance, sing,

and enjoy how tired I feel .

In gardening feeling tired feels like success.

I also get to look at my collection of vintage green pottery bowls.

They were my mother’s.

Because they are green, I think they are perfect for this space.

I hope your gardening is going well.

Things are growing and I am looking forward to my first bouquet of zinnias!

  4. No way this kid feels behind in the garden because today's forecast has rain and snow... We don't plant anything till Labor Day (maybe the weekend before if it's been a less aggressive winter.

But soon enough my Garden Warrior will come and do all the ugly clean-up and mulch laying, trimming and such. Then I'll be good to go with the rest of it! All I can say is lucky you! And what a pretty shed!

  15. I am excited to learn of this rose product. I always use systemic because my mom did. However open to try anything recommended by a fellow gardener. I will look for it here in UT. Love your garden shed! We just broke ground for ours. Your pottery collection is fabulous and certainly does look right at home.
