Garden Party 2016 : My Esperanza Garden

Garden Party 2016 Serving Table

Welcome to my Esperanza Garden, one of my favorite places in our backyard.
Let’s have a glass of iced tea with lime South Texas style, a few empanaditas de cajeta, and some fruit and talk about our love of gardening.

Garden Party 2016 Empanaditas

Esperanza means hope, and gardeners are certainly full of hope:
hope that it will rain, hope that everything we have planted can withstand the hot South Texas sun, and hope that our plants will grow.

My Esperanza Garden is a place I can go and sit and listen to my new fountain trickle,
after a hard but satisfying day of gardening. Its design is what I like to call
Garden Party 2016 Mantel 2

It’s also a place where I can display some of my favorite pieces of talavera pottery.
Long ago I decided that I would treat outdoor garden rooms as indoor rooms, and then it all made sense.

Love Seat and Footstool

There are places to sit everywhere and things to see.

I just love that word Esperanza! It truly sounds soothing just saying it. I agree that treating our gardens as an extra room is the thing to do. I love making special little areas in my garden. You have done a wonderful job and I love the display of your gorgeous pottery! Makes me want to just jump in and take a seat. Plus anything caramel gets my attention! :)
hugs,
Jann

This is beautiful, Laura. I didn't know that esperanza means hope. Now I think I need one of those pretty signs too. The way you've created little seating areas and destinations all around the yard really appeals to me. So glad it stopped raining so you could take pictures of all the loveliness. :)

Yes please, I'd love to sit at your pretty table, enjoy a treat with you, and look about your beautiful and colorful outdoor rooms. I see you have a Kimberly fern, beautiful palms and so much color! Thanks for the peek at your yard and the meaning of "Esperanza"!

Laura,
Thank you for the invitation to join in the Garden Party, dear friend!
I adore that you've created "rooms" within your Garden!
Like you, here on the Prairie, we battle constant drought,
so~o~o early Spring and Autumn are my favorite times of the year to be in The Gardens!
My favorite, because it's (suppose to be) my own, is the Fairy Garden!
I read somewhere that one should leave room in the Gardens for the Fairies To Dance!
I immediately thought of my childhood "Tinker Bell" tapping her wand around
the various Gardens and bringing them to life, thus The Fairy Garden!
Your ferns are breathtakingly beautiful!
Fondly,
Pat
