a terracotta church from Mexico in my Esperanza garden
Finds
It’s not always about finding things or treasures, although I enjoy that too.
For me, it s about finding that treasure of an idea- that writing here at White Spray Paint provides me.
I found one a while back that I hope my daughters take to heart. It is important.
Here is Dear Daughters: Listen to the Yearning.
And to that, I found some emotions yesterday that were reminiscent of a younger age-
hurt feelings.
Remember that expression?
There is no DIY message here for that, other than keeping a tight
rein and working hard around the house and realizing that sometimes the little girl in me surfaces.
Favorites
And living in South Texas as I do, Mexican food is available everywhere , and it is done well.
However, if you are looking for a go to simple chicken recipe to try at home, check out Jean’s
Chicken Verde Casserole from Delightful Repast.
Plus the translation of the recipe’s title in Spanish is priceless.
Her blog is an amazing resource for the home cook.
And with spring time coming, we all want to dress the part.
There is nothing cuter than a hot colored Mexican top paired with white cropped jeans and turquoise
jewelry.
Check mine out here.
And you must stop by and read Nancy’s blog Always in a Southern State of Mind.
You can begin with her recent post Powder Puff, but kick your shoes off- you are going to be there a while.
She has that great turn of phrase all wrapped up in humor that I love- plus she is an amazing designer.
And to the kindest blogger around- Theresa at They Call Me Ganky.
Theresa has always stayed true to her sweet message in her posts which is that it is about family and the belief
that ‘today is going to be a good day’. She ends every comment on your blog with ‘Hugs’.
Who doesn’t need that?
Thank you Theresa.
I remember that old post of yours! Nancy is a doll. Adore her and her writing so much. Heading to Theresa's now.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend friend. We have both the girls in town!!
Did somebody hurt your feelings? I'd just like to whack'em!!
ReplyDeleteThat little girl in all of us surfaces periodically, for sure. It's so much easier as we age to talk it down though.
Still searching for the right Mexican shirt that is made in Mexico and doesn't have a pregnancy look. ;)
Love the terra cotta mission! Nice suggestions too. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteThe Mexican terracotta is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Saturday
Love the bracelet and will have to go and check out some of these blogs. I'm always looking for new, good blogs!
ReplyDeleteYou always make me smile...I always marvel at folks like you, who can keep your blogs simply happy and delightful. Off to read Nancy's and then Ganky's. Have a beautiful weekend, friend.
ReplyDeleteOh...the food in your region would drive me crazy. I bet it's pretty healthy, too. I'll check out that casserole. Thanks!

Laura,
ReplyDeleteI have some big chunky turquoise bracelets from Mexico and they have been my all-time favorites since the 1960s. The things we truly love and that speak to us are timeless personal classics.

I will have to go over to have a look at Theresa's blog - thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read that you had some difficult moments. Our feelings can be hurt, no matter what our age. I like your remedy, but want to say, also, that it's important to take care of yourself and not down play those hurt feelings. Sending a hug across the miles....
Laura, thank you so much! I am honored to be in this fine company. I'm going to check out the other posts right now.
ReplyDeleteOh you are SO sweet to give me a mention in your post:) I love visiting with you and cherish our friendship! Enjoy your day my friend, sending BIG HUGS your way!
ReplyDeleteI can't resist turquoise -- jewelry or color. It's my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAnd a little turquoise (and all in its color family) always make me feel better even when my feelings are hurt. We all have that little girl in us, don't we? The one who has little cuts inside that make us whole but still can hurt. Sending hugs because no one should feel that way. I hope today is better.
