Adding Turquoise for Spring

Spring Turquoise Mantel 1

This spring’s mantel  all began with a simple thought:

I think I want turquoise in the den this spring.

And so I pulled out my Adams Calyx Singapore Bird plates and a few of my standard mantel favorites, like my

monogrammed burlap canvas, and it began to fall into place.

Spring Turquoise Mantel 1

I first discovered Singapore Bird on Michael’s wonderful blog Rattlebridge Farm, formerly known as Designs by

Gollum.

The first time I saw it, I fell in love, and the quest began. Over time and through Ebay, I put together

a collection of dinner plates

I shopped the house, added a few new things around the room, and I was done.

Spring and Turquoise

So many of us are really looking forward to spring this year.

It almost seems we need it.

What are you doing to get ready ?

After looking at those plates I wondered 'do I need some turquoise in the house for spring'? Perhaps I do!

There is something about turquoise that lifts your heart! I have a lot of Aqua verging on pale turquoise, but may need a bit more 'zing' for Spring. If it ever comes.

Cosmic twins! I just bought a large turquoise flower pot/ planter last week! It is probably headed to the back porch when the weather warms up. I also noticed your black and brass. Yes, I have those too. :-) Sheila

It looks great!

I've brought in blue and white for spring, which looks really fresh with my yellow walls.

Those plates are lovely!

Aqua is such a beautiful color and adds so much to a room or table. The Singapore Bird plates are so pretty...and so is your orchid.
Have a great week, Laura.

Hello Laura, thanks for linking up to DI&DI. Love aqua and turquoise. Some pretty colors. Anything with birds catch my eyes. I have been gardening, also playing with a new tablescape design.
