If We Were Having Coffee

DSC00498

If we were having coffee (and once you were settled and comfortable),

I’d ask you a blogging question because you are all so smart, and I still get a little confused regarding technology.

In fact, to this day my husband and I still call the television remote ‘the changer’.

And then we would laugh while you fixed your coffee, because I don’t think we hold this blogging technology business all too closely.

Agreed?

Now for the question.

Can anyone please tell me why am I receiving a Message Failure Delivery email when I leave comments on some blogs- but not all blogs?

If you really want to laugh about technology, go to you tube and watch Amy Shumer’s  Mom Computer Therapy video.

It is hilarious.

I didn’t download it here, because I don’t know how!!!

And now I am laughing again.

PS.  This is really good coffee.

We do not have a Trader Joe’s in our area, but every time we are near one I ask my husband for ‘just 5 minutes, I promise’.

Now go watch that video.

  1. Laura, I have that same question! I've gone to see if the comment posted and I've even asked if it did and yes, it did post!

    I'll check out that coffee!

  4. Laura,
I had this pop up recently, and here is what I figured out.
are these blogs some that you have to type in your name, email, and website?
The auto fill might have been filled in wrong.
I was finding on my pc-- no problems.
But on my iphone...with little tiny keyboard...I'm all thumbs.
I had filled in my address ...and it said DOT CON
    I am not CON. I'm a COM.
Next time just double check your address-- if you're all thumbs like me, it could be an easy fix.
    If that doesn't work...
    SWITCH CLICKERS.
Perhaps a bigger one will help!
    Bwahahahaha!

  5. It's the Channel Changer at our house!
I've had the same message and have no explanation, as the comment always posts.
Now, if someone could just explain Google+ to me I would be happy.
And.....I'd love to sit down for a cup of coffee with you!

  6. I call it the remote control or just remote - now that is out of the way. :)
I don't have an answer to your other question. There are so many different blog formats out there now days - some wanting you to subscribe by email, check here/check there sections for followup comments, etc., etc.. There is another type that (don't know how to explain) that you have to jump thru all kinds of hoops to post a comment.Very time consuming, so just pass on by. Some others have a format where you have to be a member of facebook, or twitter, or instagram (think there is 1 or 2 other choices)to leave a comment.
I am guessing many of the new formats are designed for bloggers who advertise/traffic monitored/build up traffic on their other accounts etc..
Me - I am a "post once a week" blogger (twice if I am lucky). I usually post and read on the run.In other words between doing other things.
My brain shuts down when it comes to technical stuff. :)
Wish we had a TJ's here - over 200 miles to the nearest one.

  7. I get that "failed message" on one of my favorite blogs....Motherhood and Muffin Tops...but I know she gets my comments...what's up with that? I'm technically challenged too so don't feel bad.

I'm not a coffee drinker but we could still have a good talk over some sweet tea!

not sure about the why's and wherefores of comments posting or not...
sure would enjoy sitting down and enjoying coffee with you!
love being a follower of yours!
    love and hugs..smiles too!

  9. Hi Laura, this is a very entertaining post. Thank you for the you tube video, I think we all have the same problem with our children with all the technology problems. I am still struggling with certain computer and smart phone technology!

  10. Well, my husband calls it 'that Thing'!
I sometimes find that I get a failure message but have no idea why, sorry.

  11. Well this has been happening to me for a while too. It has something to do with google not liking AOL, hotmail and yahoo (maybe others)...they want everyone to be gmail. I changed to gmail just recently and it still happens somewhat. I just now looked at my blog omments and noticed the one you left a couple of days ago. It never came through my email so mine was probably bounced back too. It is frustrating...only on certain blog though. Anyway, thanks for the lovely comment you left! And, just to let you know, my hubby also still calls it "the changer" :)

  12. Okay, we call it the switcher. And yes, I get that error message as well but my comments seem to be going through.

  13. Hahahahaha, My Rare One and I call the remote "the click click." I have no clue about the question you asked.

  14. Oh Laura can you hear me laughing through your computer screen? The hubby and I call the remote the same thing--usually while we're looking for it .... I think we might need to add some alcohol to that coffee because the answer to your question isn't coming too soon. I have the same thing happen to me and I have to double check whether the comment is there.
    Love your blog!
