Day 25: Procrastination

IMGP1677

I don’t know when I first heard the term procrastination and realized- ‘oh, that’s what that is’.

I am assuming the act of procrastination still carries a negative connotation?

In my case, and in the midst of the final stretch of my 31 day writing challenge, I lost my umph.

So instead of getting re-directed and planning the rest of my posts, I decided to EMPTY MY CLOSET this afternoon for a little purging.

I am sitting amid piles of clothes as I type this.

Is that the second stage in procrastination?

You roll the dice and make things worse?

Oh well.

I better get back to work before I have ANOTHER IDEA.

Oh, yeah! Roll those dice a few times. That's exactly what I do. Washing a load of clothes Christmas morning. Scrubbing the tub 5 minutes before I have to leave for an appointment. I take that to mean we are not emotionally ready.

I've missed many of your posts, as well as those of another blogger friend doing the daily posting, and that makes me sad as you are both wonderful, insightful writers. This does however, confirm to me that I will never be able to increase my posting time. I'm striving for twice a week but who has the time to write, or in my case, read everyday?

Don't let procrastination weigh you down. Maybe it's just an angel in disguise telling you to do the best you can and then let it go. ;-)

I often find my best energy when I should be doing something else. I think it means we're human!

I find I procrastinate more since I retired. It's like the less I have to do, the less I do!! Don't like that about myself...

I do procrastinate....we do procrastinate. My hubby is right in there with me...some days, we don't accomplish much....and it's especially easy to do now that we're retired. But, one thing that seems to help us...is to try to accomplish three things every day. Not specific items...just in general three things...big or small. After all...we do have to allow time for lots of goofing off....because we are retired! ;)
