Here are five random things this wonderful Friday, beginning with:
*Cookie Butter- a Moral Dilemma.
Do I go back to the kitchen cabinet where it waits, or do I resist?
Just don’t do it folks.
Don’t buy it,
don’t keep it in your house, don’t think you can resist its siren call.
My only saving grace (literally) is that it can only be found at Trader Joe’s.
The closest Trader Joe’s to my home is either in Houston or Dallas
(7-9 hours away respectively).
When I bought my husband (ahem) several jars on a recent trip to Dallas, a man standing next to me in the
cookie butter aisle was
mumbling, “Gosh I love this stuff….”
Don’t do it.
*I am planting today- regardless.
I was supposed to plant my tomatoes on Valentine’s Day, and I didn’t
because it was cold. I also have a big pile of zinnia seed packets.
Enough already.
* We have parrots in our trees.
I kid you not.
We have a trio of cheerful, squawking parrots nesting in our trees.
I don’t even know what to say about that.
My husband thinks they are even more dramatic than I am.
* You Tube Videos
It is no secret I am a fan of you tube videos.
By now I should have an advanced degree.
It is a rabbit hole you may not want to enter.
(eye makeup application, knitting, performing minor surgery…)
*The Note
And finally, more importantly,
visit Pura Vida's blog to read The Note- a wonderful lesson for us all taught from the playground.

I am waiting until the first week of May to plant anything. Such is the tradition here in my area of Kentucky. Love that you have parrots in your trees.
I hope the weather holds up for the planting and the parrots!
You had me laughing out loud with the YouTube category. Lord, don't I know that!
I'm a Houstonian ... there's a Trader Joe's in The Woodlands, close to my neck of the woods. I have yet to go there. Thanks for the warning.
Cookie Butter is one of the many reasons I am thankful to be Gluten Free...no temptation! LOL Parrots and planting. Oh how I long for our weather to stay warmer!!
I would be peeing in my pants with excitement if I had three parrots residing in my tree!!! YoTtube can help with any dilemma, from tying a tie on graduation day to which pipe to take out when installing a new faucet....it has saved our household more times than I care to admit! My daughter recently found a way to organize her daughters hair bows and headbands that she was so proud of the results, she Facebooked it...and my relatives were astounded by the amount of hair accessories my 6 year old granddaughter has accumulated!!! lol
Cookie Butter? I am not that uptown yet....lowly peanut butter beckons me!
I never heard of cookie butter but thank goodness!
I have heard of many parrots living in a lot of places, they have seemed to acclimate themselves to many climates. I have a Quaker parrot and they have been spotted here in Chicago in trees during our cold winters. I wish I could let our little vulture explore with his kinfolk a bit. Just kidding, but he is a vulture.
Planting already? Whaaaaaa!
XO,
Jane
I won't buy it, I promise;). I am itching to get something planted but will wait a couple more weeks perhaps. Enjoy your day dear Laura. Hugs
For the love of God, now I have to have some. And you didn't even really describe what it tastes like. Can you do that please? Pretty please with cookie butter on top.
Never taste Cookie Butter before. I have a fetish for peanut butter.I will eat a whole jar in one setting. I try not to buy it too often for that reason. I have tomato seeds, watermelon seeds and sunflower seeds. I am still waiting for it to warm up. I haven't planted anything other than flowers in years. Don't have much of a green thumb. But I decided to give another try.
Cookie butter? Never heard of it, but I do get into a Trader Joe's once in a while, so I appreciate the warning. Looks like a product one might need a 12-step program for! :D
Hah, hah, I saw your title, Cookie Butter and I'm wondering, is it a paint color or worst yet, a FOOD item? Cookie butter to eat, oh, girl how sinfully wonderfully delicious that sounds and no, I won't ever, ever buy it because it would call me and I have no will power.
I envy people who can eat a serving size of certain foods. In my next life, perhaps, but not in this life. If something like cookie butter was in my cabinet, it would be consumed way too fast.
Thanks for the warning.
Parrots and planting? Hah, hah, hah. You're a riot. Not happening here in southern Maine for a long, long time. Gosh, that thought makes me so sad, maybe I will have to drive into Portland to Trader Joe's...NOT!!!
Well, I think it would take me a bit longer than you to buy Cookie Butter! I have never heard of it and now I am going to have to search the internet to find some. Oh dear! See what you have started??! Also, how fun to have parrots in your trees. Just brilliant. Have a great weekend. xx
FYI My friend... There is now a Trader Joe's at the Quarry in San Antonio. Just a hop, skip and a jump away!
I never had cookie butter..I guess I'll stay away..:) Where did the parrots come from..Guess I'd better see where you live..
I have a Trader Joe's so close, I am there 3 times a week. I will not buy the cookie dough, I will not buy the cookie dough, I will not -- well, maybe just once. I cannot imagine having parrots in my backyard! How fabulous!
There will be no planting here for about another month, and that's early for Canada - but we live in the Banana Belt of the north!
Our closest Trader Joe's is in WA, a long ferry ride and longer drive, so I'm safe (for now) from the Cookie Butter.
Planting will not take place here until May - love the parrots!
I haven't heard of this cookie butter sounds very tempting!
Sherry
Cookie butter, really? Seriously? Oh my gosh, don't even tell me about it! No, don't need to know anything about it! Glad you've gotten your tomato plants in the ground, know they'll be up and growing for your green thumb soon! Ahh...love those parrots, they fly by here too. Noisy little things, always hear them coming.
Great post Miss Laura!
