I like my pink fierce and hot,
as in hot pink.
After all, if it is something pink growing in my garden, it has to withstand the South Texas heat
in late spring and summer.
That fierceness and beauty all rolled into one makes it even prettier to my eye.
It is a defiance of sorts that I imagine my plants saying:
”It may get to 105 degrees outside this summer, but I still look good!”
What fierce pink do you like?

I like my fierce pink with a tinge of purple. I can't WAIT for flowers.
ReplyDeleteThere will be no fierce pinks for a while here, but when they start to show, they will be from the rhodos in the back of the house and from the roses in the front. Mostly we have paler pinks here, starting with the magnolia - but that will be sometime from now.
ReplyDeleteI love them ALL---the fierce and the shining, the bright and the bold, the shy and the shell. If it's PINK---I like it.
ReplyDeleteI totally loved the hot-pink Tangee lipstick my friend Joy was allowed to wear in tenth grade, when I had just been granted the teensiest little smear of Avon's most demure. And one year, a bride at a Delta wedding had chosen Gerberas in the grandest, most boisterous shade of getting-past-girl-pink-into-bordello lampshades.
They'd also found tulle to match, swagging it all over everything but the hymnbooks. It looked like Betsey Johnson's birthday bash in there. And I LOVED it.
You know, several years ago, one of our mutual readers told me to drop in on White Spray Paint, saying "I really think you'll like each other."
And I've really enjoyed dropping in, though my efforts with spray paint of my own, indeed ANY kind of refurbish/renew/create is a fumbly thing in my fingers. But I so thoroughly enjoy yours, and was delighted to see you pop to the top of my "posted recently" list.
Hope you're well and warm---Sis lives in San Antonio, and I've been seeing your drought. I pray you rain, soothing and drenching, to tend your land and fill your streams and ease your heart.

I bought a neon pink t-shirt once back when neon colours were in style. I wore it until it was a soft pink, LOL!
ReplyDeleteBoy..I hope it doesn't get to 105 this summer..Single digits are much better..

After another major snowstorm yesterday, and with groundhog day being dull and dreary, seeing your pictures was refreshing...so beautiful. I love the hot pinks in the garden, too. But since the little guy didn't see his shadow, it's going to be a while before my gardens come to life.
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)

I love fierce pink although I have never called it that. My sister who hates pink, calls it "that hysterical pink you like."
