I can’t imagine not having a place in my home for my ‘library’- as humble as it may be.
In fact these simple bookcases in our bedroom hallway were in my high school classroom for years.
When displaying books, I am of the ‘bookmobile’ philosophy: not every book I own is on display.
I think it is far more interesting to rotate them.
The rest of my books are stashed all over the house.
Where do you keep your books?

Rotation is a fine idea. Love the blue pots
ReplyDeleteLove your library! Laura, like you, not every book is on display. I tell you, they are everywhere! You have just reminded me that I need to get rid of many. I'm about to be run over by them! Love your blues too!
ReplyDeleteYour book display is beautiful. Like you my books are all over the house but not all stashes are so well displayed....
ReplyDeleteI actually have a room called "The Book Room". Rotating books are all over my home...I guess you could say I'm a book lover. Love your blog !!
ReplyDeleteI have books all over the house! One antique bookcase with the glass fronts holds MANY books in our office:) It is my favorite! Love your display! Have a blessed Valentine's Day dear Laura, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI have them on display everywhere. Love your bookcases, they look great and your vignettes are wonderful. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLove it, Laura! And I love that most of the books are placed horizontally. I do that a lot too. I have several places around the house I keep books and I change them up sometimes too!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a life without books!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Laura.
I love your bookcases! I have books all over...in stacks. Right now I have two stacks in my bedroom....one to read, and one to put away. I can't imagine a world without books! ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the book case! My books are all over the house. I have a bookcasein the dining room, and one in the upstairs hallway. There are 2 in the kitchen. There is always a stack beside the bed and my chair. The stack continually changes but there is always some kind of cookbook in those stacks. Books are read over and over for me, I never tire of a book!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura! I keep my books in my little den. I have three big bookcases full of my favorites. I have a row of Gladys Taber books on the mantel in the family room.
ReplyDeleteYour display is pretty!
There's a bookcase in every room, except for the bathrooms. It's a disease, this compulsion to buy books.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Laura. I have a few precious books I keep on display, but most of what I read is electronic now. Kindle has taken over my reading world!
ReplyDeleteWe turned our formal living room into a library/piano room several years back, and I love it! Loving all your blue and white pieces.
ReplyDeleteLooks very nice. Rotating books is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI moved a little over a year ago..My books didn't...
ReplyDeleteMy books are kept in an unholy mess on cluttered bookshelves. I need to purge them. Again.
ReplyDeleteIt's very pretty with the mirror over it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a room that we call the Mad Hatter library or reading room, but we have books stored in wicker baskets beneath the bed, rolling carts, and in drawers. Most of our books were purchased used and some were given to us.
I like how you stacked your books and you made a very nice display!
ReplyDeleteAnyone who makes a reference to a bookmobile is my BFF!
ReplyDeleteI still consider my elementary school bookmobile my first love. And I like the idea of rotating books, but I'm too lazy. So I do try to have enough book shelves around to have them all out because being surrounded by books makes me happy. Your display looks very stylish!
