I know many people think Corelle dinnerware’s dish has sailed,
and I know it doesn’t have Pottery Barn’s cool factor.
But…
I am in love.
I recently discovered my newest obsession
with the purchase of 6 dinner plates and the most amazing cereal, Blue Bell ice cream, side salad bowls known to man.
For those of you that had/have these ,
remember how thin and lightweight they are?
I am so tired of heavy dinnerware, aren’t you?
Remember how white they are?
They are the perfect white.
Remember how easy to clean they are?
And the cereal bowls…oh my…
Some pieces are on sale at Target right now friends.
Everything old really is new again, right?

I'm not believing this.. my sons were talking about my Corelle cereal bowls while eating Blue Bell ice cream a couple of weeks ago... saying they liked them... (I didn't know if they were making fun of me for still having them) Thanks for this post..LOL
ReplyDeleteI love white dinnerware. Need some. Will check out the Corelle line ... again. :)

ReplyDeleteI'm so with you on heavy dinnerware. I used the Dansk Bistro for years, and thought that I might get a hernia moving them from the dish washer to the cabinet. Once I made the switch to English transferware, there was no looking back! Thanks for letting me know about the Corelle at Target...KC needs some new cereal bowls. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. ReplyDeleteI have used Corelle all 30+ years of our marriage.

You are not the only one thinking how dishes are so heavy now days...
ReplyDeletea couple of summers ago... I went on a mission to find Corelle dishes for the hubby, shortly after his stroke. He complained of our dishes being too heavy. I collected mine from thrift stores.
So not only do I have nice white Corelle dishes...some of mine have some nice vintage patterns in Brown and Avocado Green, too!
enjoy your Corelle, Laura.

I still have my original set of Corelle. I think I had 3 or 4 sets of different patterns over the years. The only thing I didn't like that is if it DOES happen to break it shatters in a million shards! It is fun to use though and retro is in! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteCorelle is tough as nails, many times I dropped mine on the tile kitchen floor and it never broke! Saw it on HSN.com recently too.
ReplyDeleteI just started looking into them! Half of our dishes have chips. I'll check out Target. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI only have one small set of Corelle that was a freebie! I have noticed that they have some cute patterns and they are very lightweight compared to stoneware!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, welcome to Season-to-season. Funny you should be blogging about Corelle dishes. I am a self proclaimed dish addict and love stoneware too. But I found some lightweight white plates with fluted edges that have become my everyday dinnerware. There's something about their style and livability that seems to make life easier. I'll be visiting your blog often. Glad to meet you. peggy from PA
ReplyDeleteI like them as well. I have the old Corningware dishes that my husband and I received as wedding gifts 43 years ago! I have lost one plate and one small dish... so many years ago I can't remember what piece. I will never tire of them. Clean, crisp, goes with every season and color. Good for you, Laura!!

OH yes! I need some new lightweight dishes:) Have a blessed Sunday dear Laura, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI am in COMPLETE agreement with you on this! ANOTHER THING TO CONSIDER IS THIS: Corelle dishes take up a LOT less space in your cabinets. You can store a great deal of Corelle on one or two shelves. Now, I'm headed for the Target website, hoping it is still on sale!
ReplyDeleteI love my white Corelle dishes. They go with everything and can be dressed up or down according to your theme!
ReplyDeleteI love Corelle Mom was just saying she has a six place setting the other day she wanted to give away.. I was like wait a minute, I want those.. a solid white dish set you can mix and match with blue.. It's mine can't give it away.. Now lol I really want to go up and find them.. Mom's been using them for years picking up other sets at the second hand store your right they are so light and the white is the perfect white great post.. Have a lovely new week Janice
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I am in love with that white bowl and plate dinnerware. I have already heard about Corelle brand but don’t know is it costly or inexpensive?? My friend told me about that brand is so popular and quite durable in use too. But unfortunately I already purchased a set of dinnerware from thelatable which is made up of glass that too at a very low price. They also have plenty of dinnerware; flatware and wedding case buys as well.
