So I am walking in the garden center entrance to Wal Mart this morning, taking the long
way to the grocery section and BAM this thought hits. (This is a true story.)
I wrote bowel instead of bowl in my blog post Last Little Bit Salad.
Nooooooooooo.
Time Out: As a retired high school English teacher, this is so embarrassing.
I mean BOWEL for goodness sake. Are you kidding me? What a charming image to include in a recipe.
I frantically pulled my IPhone out, went to my blog site as quickly as I could, and checked.
Nooooooooooo.
Bowel…
Have you ever deleted a blog post from your phone, while panicked, standing near the swimming pool supplies at Wal Mart?
Just another Saturday morning at White Spray Paint.

PS. Whenever I re-post a post, I promise I have no ulterior motive to move up higher on your blog roll. It is only because I have just panicked, choked , and realized I have written something crazy.
Have a great weekend!
Ok, that is too funny! Sorry for your panic attack, but thanks for the laugh!

:)
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice:). Enjoy your day!!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh yes - been there and done that! If it can happen to an English teacher it can happen to all of us!
ReplyDeleteI read the other post... and
ReplyDeleteyou bowel ? ...or is that just you being cheeky again?
I ratted you out in your previous post... I couldn't help it! Cause you're too funny, and LIGHTEN UP!
English teacher are not hypocrites if they misspell a word...
...and lastly, No. I've never hid out in ANY dept of Wal-mart to edit a blog post or anything else, other than my grocery list.
:) Pat
Oh, Dear Laura, how I love you! :)
ReplyDeletehilarious!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy! Can I relate. :-D I linked up to an event (had not been blogging long), and the name of the blog I was trying to link to was almost identical to another "not so nice" one. Luckily, someone caught it early and let me know. So embarrassing!
ReplyDeleteYour salad is beautiful in that pretty white bowel--there, does that make you feel better? !!
ReplyDeleteI only discovered this past week that I could edit my post after it had been published...and here I had caught at least one or more typos, etc., on my posts ever since I'd started blogging in November. I just thought "oh, well, people like to see others make mistakes."
Your bowl is beautiful!
Sorry to say you are not alone sweetie pie, I to have been there and done that!!!
ReplyDeleteHope your Saturday is wonderful...
Cindy
now that's dang funny
ReplyDeleteThis is really funny! But we all do it, I mostly when I leave comments and don't proofread them. I'm just a terrible typist!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I noticed....and giggled, realising it was just a typo. Dont we all do that?!
ReplyDeleteGirl...you bowel me over!
ReplyDeleteAnthony
P.S. It's refreshing to know you're human too...and a relief.
omg, that is too funny! even if you used spell check it would not have alerted you to "bowel" vs. "bowl".
ReplyDeletecute story, thanks for sharing!
Too funny. You would not believe how many time my husband has found and even made those kinds of errors himself when he is writing academic books and articles. One of his worst (that he thankfully caught) was the "Devon Pubic Office" instead of the "Devon Public Office". He has also seen it written Lord Bryon (instead of Lord Byron). If you Google the error you can see that all kinds of others have made that mistake as well and not caught it before having it published. In other words, you are in good company as these are academics I'm talking about here with PhDs.
ReplyDeleteLOL- Oh yeah...glad to hear someone else does things like that. One of my friends was training in the hospital and she was about to wash a patient who had no use of his hands. She said, Okay, Bill, and now I am going to wash your PUBLIC area....lol. It's been 30 years and I still giggle every time I think of her saying that. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't tell you the ways I have typed Home Sweet Home! Glad the recipe site was a good idea for you too. I have been wanting a great recipe website to post to and it was great timing for me.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Laura!
Sherry
Oh I noticed it but it didn't strike me until just now exactly what you wrote. Gah, deep breath, all is well and there is nothing that can't be accomplished without a Walmart and a cell...;j
ReplyDeleteFunny. Thanks for the fun.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteBliss
Oh, this made me laugh - thanks for the Sunday morning humor!!
ReplyDeleteI think we have all experienced this once or twice....and spell check does nothing for an error like that...laughing
ReplyDeleteToo funny, Laura.
ReplyDeleteha ha... I did the same this week, I sent a article to a friend and realised I had written 'moose' instead of mousse... I mean chocolate mousse not animal 'moose'... it happens to the best of us!! :)
