Gardening Plans

IMG_8837

Attention all gardeners:

Rose bushes have arrived and are on sale at WalMart and at our HEB grocery store.

I want to buy one in every color, but I need a plan I think.

I didn’t plant my caladium bulbs back in October, so I have to figure out what to do about that.

I will miss them.

I also need to confess to my dear friend Mary Kay that the irises died she gave me to transplant.

Oh dear.

She’s a really nice, patient person.

I hope she understands and

let’s me try again.

I also want to re-do my raised beds so they look more decorative.

What’s that French word everyone in blog land uses? Potager?

I would feel silly saying that.

Jardin works just fine for me. (garden in Spanish)

Our extension agent said he plants his tomato plants on Valentine’s Day.

Yikes.

Bloggers are already decorating for Valentine’s Day.

I’m behind and it’s not even here yet.

And then there are all of the zinnia seeds I need ,

the new hoses I need to buy,

and the dead areas of the lawn I need to re-plant.

Sigh…

I need to remember my husband’s famous admonition:

”Now, don’t get yourself into a tizzy.”

  1. Wow, I envy you! Spring is 5 months away in the upper Midwest...not a thought about planting anything except envy!! The roses look beautiful!

I hope you had a great Christmas...I visit often but don't always leave a comment. Hope all is well with you and your family.

    XO,

  6. I still have two roses blooming outside the dining room window, but otherwise it's pretty grey here. There won't be any planting until March or April - but lots of dreaming!

  7. My husband says," You're in that mood again."

I think it is wonderful you are thinking about all your plans. Pat yourself on the back.

I think we are all too hard on ourselves.

  8. I didn't know that Anything could kill irises. I smuggled some in my suitcase once and since have moved them from house to house 3 times!
NanaDiana's comment reminded me of one of my 4th grade students telling another student, "Don't ever do that! Mrs Guinn will have a Hussy Fit!"

  9. I love the planning stages, then get discouraged during the execution stage of said plans! Planning - fun, doing said plan...not so much! You get to start your gardening season so early! But then, our Walmart will probably be getting roses in another month. It will be here before we know it!
