Once upon a time there were three little girls
headed to a county 4H foods and nutrition
contest.
Two prepared their dishes in my kitchen because
they were my daughters (Lauren and Katherine).
dish Broccoli Cornbread in her mother’s kitchen.
Broccoli Cornbread
is a family favorite and is now an honorary
member of
Ranch Recipes.
I prepared it today, along with a pot of my vegetable beef soup for
another dear friend.
Thank you Elizabeth!

Oh My ! I had some homemade beef and veggie soup for dinner but no broccoli cornbread. Bet it it was yummy. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
I copied this recipe over- I would never have thought to pair those ingredients! xo Diana
Hi Laura....I just copied your recipe for broccoli cornbread. Then, I spent some time looking at the other recipes and reading some of your older posts. Love your blog...
YUM! Thanks for sharing this recipe:) We make something similar using corn! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
Aww...you made my day! What a great blog post. I can remember those days like they were yesterday, trying to figure what they should make for the competition!
See ya soon,

Just don't ask me the nutritional value of a stick of butter. :) It would not be considered a ranch recipe but one of my biggest food memories is of Lauren and I trying to make 1-2-3-4 cake. I think it was just our excuse to open a tub of frosting.
I might give this cornbread a try tonight to go with my chicken noodle soup.
And I see your cloches..... sitting empty......

are you kidding me? this is a MUST TRY!
Just ran this off and will be trying this shortly. Thanks for sharing and loved the story of it's beginning.
I remember that day as I was one of the judges. So fun!! Those 4-H years really gave us some great memories and certainly taught our kids a lot.
