Dear Daughters: Out of the Ordinary Questions

IMG_9774

Dear Daughters,

One of my favorite things to do

as a grandmother is to

shock your sons/nephews/ and my grandsons

with out of the ordinary questions.

In the photo above I had just asked Mills if he wanted to hop up in the driver’s seat of this roofer’s truck

in our driveway.

He did- while trying not to smile.

I have also been known to turn to Harrison and say-

“Do you want to drive?”

(Don’t tell his parents.)

We did- together-

in the Love’s convenience store parking lot outside Three Rivers.

Other questions?

*I bought 3 kinds of Blue Bell- how about a bowl of all three?

and-

*Who wants to load the popcorn popper?

It is so much fun!

Love to you all-

Mom

  8. This post choked me up. You nailed it you know, Gramma. We didn't always take the time to do that stuff with our own kids. We do now.

  10. Very fun! That's what grandma's are for right? You asked about the velvet pumpkins. Simply cut a circle of velvet, do a straight stitch around the top, fill bottom with sand, beans or cat litter, top with foam ( like for pillows, the loose stuff, sorry, don't know what that's called) then pull the thread , to gather the top, the pleats will naturally happen. Tie it off, add a stem of sorts, twig or actual pumpkin stem. Glue it in then embellish as you like. Hope that's clear. Let me know if you have any questions. Ciao for now.

  11. Hilarious!
I have an older step-daughter and when her kids were here at 'spring break' this year...

They were asked one cool March morning...
"Who wants vanilla ice cream on top of their oatmeal? "
...it was unanimous. Hands up everywhere!
they also got 1 cup of coffee with breakfast...ssshhh!

(what?...their mom let's them drink soda 'til it's coming out their ears)
Their fine... Man are they hard workers after breakfast!
