I have spent the better part of this weekend
painting furniture in our new SW Snowbound White guest room-
hence the post title.
Why that title?
Because when I paint-
I also paint
MYSELF.
Remember my Anti-Paint Tutorial?
I paint in my gown-
I paint recklessly-
and I paint messy.
I have also spent more time this weekend
under the bed trying to reach for things
without kicking over said chalk paint can than I care to repeat.
But let me tell you-
as someone who is 3 years late to the party-
(and yes- I painted the hardware and I even left the stuff in the drawers!)
you could paint your car with chalk paint-
without washing it FIRST
and it doesn’t care.
I am impressed and a MESS.

PS. Do you think this ‘no le hace’ (It doesn’t matter)
attitude about DIY projects
is why I have lost 4 followers in a week?
All I can say is if you are still reading-
you go girl!
If you are just a tad rebellious and think most things are funny-
then you are in the right place.
I am still here:) Love the way you do your projects! Have a blessed week dear Laura, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI'm still here...I've painted in my gown too...actually today I spent the entire day in my gown...cleaning out closets and shelves....
ReplyDeletestill here and you give me hope for getting 'round to painting some of this junk 'round here!
ReplyDeleteI'm here too!! I laughed at you painting with the stuff still in the drawers. No wonder you cover so much territory in such a short time. What other short cuts do you have??? No holding out, Miss Laura.
ReplyDelete(You're so fun!)

Love it. I'm with your girlie. Yes, I paint the knobs and everything! Love it! You go, girl!
ReplyDeleteha! still here...and i think most things are funny! I just this weekend created a ::STRUCK ME FUNNY:: board on pinterest!
ReplyDeleteYou've got me pegged.
...I've painted in my jammies, Pat
We are kindred spirits when it comes to painting~~~~Did you say you get it in your HAIR? I DO!! I'm still here, too! From one sweetie to another~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteLOL- I don't know why you lost followers but I am pretty sure it is not your devil-may-care attitude. I think people have been dropping off blogging- I know two that quit this week...when they go bye-bye so does their enrollment as a follower. And if they did drop off because you are a hot mess well, who needs 'em anyway? lol Now...go clean yourself up! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI don't comment every time but I'm still here...that is strange tho' cause I lost 2followers this last week and was starting to get worried. Maybe they were the same people!
ReplyDeleteI think followers come for a while, lose interest and disappear. The ones that stay, even if like me, they dont comment a lot, are the faithful ones!
ReplyDeleteI haven't gone anywhere...still enjoying HOW you do your projects, and the always stunning results. Plus, your sense of humor goes perfectly with my morning coffee! ;)
ReplyDeleteha! I never intend to stay painting in my gown...time just gets away
ReplyDeleteI'm want to see and hear more...love that you didn't take things out of the drawers - my kind of painting!!
ReplyDeleteAny paint that will cover pre-existing dirt is worth it's $35 price tag...every single drop.
ReplyDeleteYou mean to tell me, I'm not supposed to be wearing it in my hair and on my the bottom of my feet? Well shoot...ain't that a mare's *!
I say don't sweat the small stuff Sister. Those four don't know what they're missin'!
Deb
Why take stuff out of drawers to paint? Do most people?
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Laura!!!
ReplyDeletelost 4 followers?
you've got to be kidding..
you could not PRY me away from your blog!!! NEVER!
have been itching to try this stuff also..just not in my jammies..
got a slight little distraction right now..but perhaps next weekend..
i too will be painting EVERYTHING..
might even consider painting the town RED!
Love you and your blog!!
hugs..Loui♥
I agree about the ASCP. I was surprised to hear it wasn't latex and it still cleans up so well. Maybe it will come off of you easily, hah.
ReplyDeleteAs far as loosing followers......It seems I just get a couple new ones then there is one that drops. It's all good.
Good for you! I want to see the finished project! BTW, we all have followers that come and go. Linda
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, girlfriend, girlfriend. Remember your post about what you can't live without? Well, I bought the Oil of Olay face scrubber and I LOVE IT! I kept trying to remember whose blog had the recommendation and today, I realized it was YOU!
ReplyDeleteI have always gotten compliments on my skin and have been told that I don't look my age. Well honey, you have upped the ante for me, because I don't think my skin could look any better.
Thanks SO much for your recommendation-you rock!
I literally laughed out loud when I read what a messy painter you are! Welcome to the club, and I am a proud member, too! ha! I have a couple of "paint outfits" and they aren't fit to be seen in, bearing at least some remnant of every color I've painted with them on! The funny thing is, I hardly ever get any on the floor ...mishaps, and I can paint a mean perfectly straight trim line down a wall/window, or up by the ceiling, but myself, it's on ...literally ...hair and all! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the dropped followers! Things like that used to bother me, but not anymore. Why sweat it??? I have less than 175 followers, (pretty pitiful, huh?), but get TONS more hits, so go figure! You have a fabulous blog, just keep doing what your doing! :) ~Rhonda
You go girl!! Isn't it great that this time has come in our lives when we can do just about anything we want on our own time?? Got to love the FREEEEEEEEDOMMMM!!!! Have more fun is all I have to say!
ReplyDeleteI love this post. I am a messy painter too and I think chalk paint is the bomb. :o) How do you know you lost followers? Don't give it a second thought...they are the ones losing out. Happy Labor Day Laura!
ReplyDeleteNo, You go girl! Don't pay attention to the followers list. I'm not sure that it means a thing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your experience with chalk paint. From what you describe, I think I can handle it. :)
I will always be here. I love your sense of humor and quirkiness. The other day I finally cleaned out my drawers and discovered I have more paint clothes (good shirts and capris that I've painted in and covered in paint) than regular clothes. I am getting much better at changing before I pull out the paint brush now. Enjoy your day. btw...I still haven't tried chalk paint!
ReplyDeleteI'm stil here and laughing:) Okay, now if I ever paint in my gown, I will be thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
linda
