(the last of my zinnias)
Outside My Window…
my zinnias, tomatoes, and sunflowers are on their last summer of 2012 leg.
It’s time to clean out the beds
and say
Thank You. You were so valiant, and I am so humbled by your efforts.
I Am Reading…
I checked it out of the Pharr library today-
one of my favorite places.
After watching Sunday’s episode of HBO’s The Newsroom (I am obsessed),
I reminded myself that thinking and learning is precious
and nothing valuable is going to jump off the television screen
in the Real Housewives of whatever.
It’s like watching a train wreck.
I can’t seem to look away.
So,
I can at least read, right?
I Am Thinking…
that there are so many tricks of blogging I never knew existed.
Did you know about SEO, key words, and shortened URLs ?
???
Yikes!
I am creating….
a list.
It is too hot to do otherwise.
Have a wonderful week!

My gardens are looking rather sad right now, too. It may be time to put a few beds out of their misery this weekend. I hope it's cooled a bit for you this week. As far as blogging tricks...I am clueless. One day I will figure those catch phrases and abbreviations out. Have a wonderful day.
Laura, everything here is still going, but barely...we need rain SO badly! Planting zinnias was a new experience for me this year...LOVE them! (My Mom used to have them; I just never did) ~ Love your green one! Husband and I are hooked on The Newsroom, too. Will try to find the book you're reading ~ looks good!
Best,
Anne
I just finished reading the Quinlan book and really enjoyed it - hope you do!
I need to read more:) You inspire me! I am about to clean out some of my plants also! Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
Laura, those zinnias are wonderful..they look pretty in a vase too!
Your zinnias are gorgeous! Have a great week :)
L.B.,
There are so many train wrecks surrounding my reality, television pales in comparison!
If you're learning new tricks...share. This ol' dog is willing to learn to fetch. Speak I got down pat.

The colors are magnificent. Love love love your summer flowers.
You are so right about reading vs. TV train wrecks. My thoughts on reality TV - class to trash. It's so sad when women who, in theory, should have so much positive in their lives would stoop to a reality series. Don't they realize their children will see them, if not now then someday?
Do you have some fall flowers to take their place?
~Bliss~
Ha ha ha... I can so identify with the train wreck scenario.
I've not read this book...but have been reading things and learning new things this summer. HINT: has to do with slaughtering chickens.
"County Wisdom and Know How" ...makes for interesting reading.
However, I've got to get the Dollar General magnifier (gramma glasses) on to read it.
can I help it if ALL print is smaller than it used to be?
Pat
Your zinnias are gorgeous...what a beautiful color!
I so agree about television reality shows and can honestly say I have never watched a one of them. Real Housewife of Whatever and their train-wrecked lives: my time is more precious than that. I'm happily a reader too!
Gosh- those flowers look almost 3D...they are just gorgeous- Those reality shows drive me batty mostly...although I will admit that I have caught this new Bachlorette off and on and I love CNN Headline news. xo Diana
Wow, I'm surprised - here in Central Illinois, my tomatoes and Zinnias are still going strong and likely will until frost. Even with the 100+ heat that we've had all summer. I water every day.
Now, on the other hand, there are other flowers that are looking weary. It's been a long-hot summer.
I love your blog.
Linda :)
I am enjoying the last of my sweet peas as well. They were glorious this year and from seeds of last year's crop. My neighbors all said they enjoyed walking by my house and smelling them....now I am collecting their seeds for next year.
What beautiful zinnias!
Your zinnias are just spectacular! I am resolved to grow mine from seed next year to get the variety. My sunflowers are over as well -- just so hot here right now.
