The inspiration zone for me,
whether it is for fall or any other
time of year,
is the most fun
when it happens inside my own home.
It is like the expression
’east meets west’,
or in this case,
a sunburst mirror my middle daughter gave me
propped as the perfect backdrop for my new
mercury glass pumpkins.
Or when it occurred to me
that my cream ceramic pumpkin might look pretty
in the hutch in the nap room.
Especially if it is near its baby pumpkins-
(I know… I went a bridge too far with that description…)
And then there’s
that slow dance easing into orange-
a favorite fall color.
It’s just that it is still in the 90’s here,
and it hasn’t
felt
like fall as yet.
So instead,
I inspired myself with small
chinoiserie plates
and a small box,
that I found recently at the flea market.
And then the orange of a cooler fall
made perfect sense today.

Definitely fall inspiration for me! I need to get out my favorite pumpkins to decorate. I love the cream ceramic pumpkin.
Love your sunburst mirror. I recently got one at Target but it has a lot to be desired. Yours is a beauty!
Laura, I Love your Fall decor especially the mercury glass pumpkin and your pretty new box. The sunburst mirror is wonderful too.
Hugs,
Sherry
I love Fall! I also love that you decorated to suit your house. The murcury glass pumpkin is fabulous, if you need more they have a bunch at Marshall's $5.99!

so pretty...hard to think of fall when today it was 99 degrees
Oh wow, it is all so elegant and so beautifully perfect. It is warm here too, but I am still moving ahead with fall. We're still at 104. I don't think it is ever going to end. lol I love your mirror and the mercury pumpkins, and the orange is beautiful. I absolutely love those plates. Hugs, Marty
I'm a mercury glass-aholic! I l-o-v-e that pumpkin! Where oh where did you get it?
I;m also in love that orange oriental box!
That box - so beautiful. I love your take on fall.
The mercury glass one does take it up a notch!
oh my goodness yes! the Royal Crown Derby china must come out of hiding to flash that wonderful orange color :) I'm so totally in love with your mercury glass pumpkin too. I'd like to get into the mood for fall, but it's not striking my fancy just yet. That's code for I'm procrastinating :)
Oh Laura, you've found some gorgeous pumpkins to display. The weather will dip soon enough. I think we're all ready for it this year. Patty
I adore your mercury glass pumpkin and the box! Your Fall touches are both pretty and festive. I certainly understand about being slow to Fall because of the temps!
Thank you for linking to Potpourri Friday. I appreciate you, Laura!
Laura, It all looks just beautiful. We are finally quite chilly here today. It will come soon enough!
It is feeling like Fall outside here today but the inside of my house isn't Fallish yet! Gotta get busy with that! Love your pretty decorations! Enjoy your weekend, HUGS!

Very pretty. I wasn't going to decorate much this year but now I'm rethinking that.
