Change Your Plates Ladies

IMG_6600

Years ago, on a shopping trip with my girls to the Fiesta Outlet in Canton,

I bought 12 Fiesta dinner plates in different colors.

At one point during that visit, all four of us were on different rows of the warehouse.

All I could hear was the clanking of plates,

that passed muster (no flaws),

as they were placed in shopping carts

by my daughters.

My mother and my aunts, all Fiesta aficionados,

would have been very proud.

In honor of the HEAT,

I switched out my daily dishes and started using my Fiesta plates.

Each day, when I reach in the cabinet for a plate

is a

NEW DAY.

I love the surprise.

Today it is turquoise at supper; tomorrow it may be red at breakfast.

Tonight’s Supper Sprinkle Salad

Sprinkle salad greens on a pretty plate

Sprinkle greens with

feta, strawberry slices, craisens, and almonds

add avocado slices if you like

Drizzle with my boyfriend Paul Newman’s Balsamic Vinaigrette

(no, I am not drinking the stuff- I am just a tad addicted)

Start changing out your plates ladies!

Everyday is a

NEW DAY.

  3. I used to have quite a few pieces of Fiesta Ware and gave it to one of my daughters. I also collected the pastel version call Lu-Ray...and loved that too! xo Diana

  11. Love this idea and the salad looks divine. A good friend of mine has different colored Fiesta ware. When we go for dinner her table always looks so "festive." (Pun intended...couldn't help myself.) Have a great Labor Day!

  17. When my hubby and I married an old family friend willed her dishes to Steveo and his brother. One was a set of Nippon China with pink roses and the other set was Fiesta. Being a pink-rose-lovin-girl even back then you can easily figure out what I chose.

Last July we were visiting Steveo's bro and his wifey proudly served us an evening meal on that fabulous old dinnerware. I was sick! I wanted it so bad. I'm still happy with my china...but isn't it terrible I wish I had both?

    Sweet post girly!

  19. Your salad looks yummy. I inherited an entire set of Fiesta from my husband's grandmother. I've 16 or 18 plates, bowls, cups, coffee pots, pitchers, tumblers, you name it. It is still packed away because I'm too afraid to use it and break it. Isn't that sad? You may have inspired me to break it out! :)
