(Grandson #2 in their hide-out, under a mesquite tree at the back of our yard.
Rancho Landscaping at its most practical.)
We all handle the heat in different ways,
and we certainly all have a heat story this summer.
I have had a terrible bout with bronchitis/laryngitis this week of
heat and grandsons visiting.
Thank goodness Daughter #2 lives nearby.
This afternoon I decided to embrace it (the heat) for just a bit, and do a little of what needed to be done.
That lasted about 10 minutes.
So tonight for the boys last night here,
we are having
meat loaf
carrots
macaroni and cheese
green salad
and
fresh corn and butter
for supper.
I see a mango supreme on the horizon for dessert.

Oh my! I wish I could come eat dinner with y'all!! XOXO
That sounds like a good home-cooked meal! You lasted being outside about as long as I do. Out to water the potted plants and back in. All in about 10 minutes.
That first picture is so cute. I hope you feel better.
Nasty to be sick in the summer and babysitting on top of it. Stay cool.
Great pictures! Hope you feel better soon. Dinner sounds delish. :)
Love the pictures and hope you are better soon. Stay cool.
The heat is getting to me too. Please take care. The kiddos are darling♥
Girl...for that to be my supper, I'd have my feet under a table at Boston Market! How on earth do you pull something like that off with those two precious rabble rousers?
Debbie
P.S. I have drove the wheels off my Exploder trying to find a vintage hammock like yours!
Hi Laura! Thank you so much for visiting my Shoppe during Canton, it's always nice to meet a blogger in person! When you get a chance, send me an email, you left a bag behind at our sales counter. I'm glad we visited, thanks to your blog it allowed me to find you! xoxo ~LaurieAnna
Such a cutie in the hammock -- it's been hotter than the devil's den here!
Beautiful boys! I'm so sorry to hear that you have been ill while you've had them - but their last night dinner will be memorable!
hope you feel better soon....this heat makes it worse I'm sure..
Ahhh, now that's the life! What a sweet photo of your grandson. Hope your feeling better, stay in and stay cool! Martina
That is some kind of heat that ya'll are having! Take it easy, stay cool, and get well soon! The grandboys are adorable!
Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly but surely, this image (sooo sweet!) must've been a delightful cure!

I think that between that darling picture and your menu, you have pretty much defined "goodness" in this post.
My childhood home in Wichita Falls had the largest mesquite tree smack in the middle of the front yard. My mom would always plant pansies around it in the Fall. Such great memories!!!!!!!!! Oh, and I remember that flippin heat as well!
Sweet pictures! I believe that having Grandchildren is one of the best blessings EVER! Hope you feel better, stay cool dear friend!!!!! HUGS!
OMG, couldn't you just eat him up. Great photo!!!!
I love this! I am expecting my first grandbaby in March and I am secretly hoping for a boy! (But either one will be loved unconditionally!)
The pictures you took could have been taken at my house 15 years ago following my son around!
So cute, especially the darts on the door! LOL
