This advice, that your grandmother Nonnie gave me years ago, is not for the faint of heart.
In fact, as collectors, explorers, finders, discount experts, and flea marketeers,
(you came by these traits honestly),
the thought
can be daunting.
But,
here it is.
Stay Out Of Stores.
That’s it girls.
It’s as simple as that.
Love you.
Have a great week,
Mom
PS. I made up that word flea marketeers, and I am now cracking myself up!

you're cracking us all up, too!!
you are so right though!
I never want new shoes until I walk through Norstrom!!
Haha! Fantastic advice =-) Thanks for the reminder!
I wonder if any of us have EVER followed that advice! My husband would say.....ummmm.....NO!
LOL
From one flea marketeer to another !!
Lou Cinda ;)
Laura, this is the best advice! it works for me every time. ;-)
But it isn't an easy piece of advice for me to follow sometimes. "Flea Marketeers" ~ very clever. ~ Sarah
PS
I'll be back to catch up later. I've been absent of late and see that there is much I need to read. ;-)
good common sense advice....maybe you need to run for President.
LOL!!! Great advice... and I like it when you make up words.
;-D
So true! One way I avoid impulse buys is to stay out of stores; however, I think Amazon has taken its place. :( And I'm on my computer all the time!
Easy to say...harder to do!
Reckon you could come up with hats for us to wear to show we're flea marketeers? No mouse ears...please!
Deb
Made up words are best... and you DO crack me up as well!
Good advice! Do you think the girls will listen?
...and off the internet. Great advice! Cherry Kay
How funny! But what about shops...like thrift shops and antique shops...would that count? ;)
{just kidding}
Great advice...it works for me every time!
Happy Tuesday!
Sharlotte
LOL- Do you REALLY think those girls will listen? xo Diana
This is really great advice! :-) Seriously though. Every time I step foot in Target I buy any and everything not on my list.
Great advice for your daughters and everyone!
Yes, another 110 day. That's 40 days in a ROW! I've lost count of how many there have been including all those not in a row. It's certainly keeping me indoors...heeding your financial advice!
And my daddy would add -- walk the catalogs and flyers from the mailbox and newspaper right on out to the trash can --- don't even look!
That's sure how I save money. Stay home and stay out of stores and restaurants. Very wise advice!!!
Wonderful advice but hard to follow sometimes. I know that even thrifting has it's dark side. I need to ask myself more often if I am buying something because I need it or because it is a good deal. If I am only buying it because it is a good deal but don't really need it, then it isn't a good deal. My head doesn't always rule.
Love the name.
Oh, Laura, I had to add something that I hope will make YOU smile. I keep a journal of sayings that I like and I have added your new word to it and of course, given you and your blog credit.
