I delivered the turquoise campaign dresser to my daughter in Dallas last night.
Seeing it in her home made me crave color.
Clear Colors.
Is there such a term?
I woke up this morning (at her home)
thinking I need raspberry in my living room.
(Yes, I really woke up thinking that.)
Yes, I said raspberry.
I’m all over the place folks, but this funky color speaks to me.
Aside from the fact that I haven’t finished the Nap Room.,
and the fact that…
after visiting the Wisteria Outlet,
I want to move this hutch to one of the bedrooms (after I paint it) and after I paint the bedroom Kilim Beige.
Then I thought I’d get the Rachel Ashwell burlap looking linen bedding from Target (that Daughter #2 found) and use mercury glass and hotel silver.
Then the entire house will be in chaos!
Would anyone like to invite my husband over for a week’s visit???
(Three pieces of my daughter’s black amethyst collection.)
First, I love the turquoise dresser. I want it! Secondly, I chose Raspberry carpet for my bedroom when I was 5 years old to match my tulip printed wallpaper. My family still teases me about "wasberry" as I said but I have to say I still LOVE the color, just not in carpet but instead paint! Can't wait to see what you do.
ReplyDeleteSo love the raspberry idea. Yummy! The turquoise is very pretty, love that chest. Hurry up, you have our attention now! Dying to see where you go with all of this. Now re hubby, if he's a 'picker upper', send him on over. Chuckle!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Hahaha...you're so cute! I LOVE the turquoise piece too! I love color and think your raspberry idea is a wonderful one. I had a similar ephipany last week about painting something ORANGE in my house. Now mind you, I don't really have ANYTHING orange but I looked at the piece of furniture and that's what it "screamed" to me. Haven't done it yet, but probably will! :)
ReplyDeleteRaspberry...that sounds like a fresh new color to decorate with! Now...what are you going to paint? I love your hutch, by the way!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I like raspberry, too! Don't have any, but I like it just the same.:) Have a great visit with your sweet daughter, Laura.
ReplyDeleteI have toned everything in my house down, and I like it, but am really wondering how long I will be satisfied without color.
ReplyDeleteLove the turquoise dresser. Can't wait to see some raspberry.
He can come to Vegas, but only if he'll do yard work : D
ReplyDeleteI am now craving color also..must be something in the water.

ReplyDeleteOh that hutch is so pretty. I am new to your blog and am so glad that I found it!!
ReplyDeleteSend the husband up here to Georgia, I will leave him a key to the poolhouse! Just let me know when you are finished! Then you will have to come get him and paint at my house:) hehe Enjoy your dreams of raspberry and clear color! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteI love raspberry! That's the color I want in my dining room! I'm desperate for it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job on the turquoise chest. I paint furniture for my daughter, too. Thank you for sharing your colorful quest. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteThat turquoise chest is sublime. Great job!! You were in my neck of the woods. Hot as Hades, isn't it? Oy. :)

Yum raspberry. Sounds beautiful. I love the black glass against the turquoise. I sold my collection of black and now I am kicking myself!
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteLOVE the turquoise piece, wow! Just a reminder about the mirror that your daughter found on the weekend. I'm still interested, thanks!!! Lynne
Suuuurrrreeee. He is more than welcome to enter into mayhem over here along with my husband!
ReplyDeleteYou are daring - and I think your ideas are AWESOME! A load of work though - I am so tired right now, I can't even contemplate another project. It took all I had to finish up the first half of the last one - and I have a WAYS to go yet! Ugh. Sigh.
YOU GO GIRL! :) Karen
That dresser is gorgeous, just gorgeous! Such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteI love the raspberry red idea. I am actually hoping to paint our front door a raspberry type red and am on the look-out for the perfect shade!
The reason for beginning the project has been taken up in many ways by many different people but to me, it was by necessity. I had been going bigger and bigger with my own canvas paintings up to 2m x 1.2m and still feeling constricted in what I could do. As well as the financial side of producing paintings that size! car paint
