This One is For Me

I am thankful for

second chances,

forgiveness,

redemption,

and

‘overs’.

I am thankful for

my upbringing,

my common sense,

my instincts,

and

my

‘if I were on a sinking ship’

thinking.

I am thankful that,

I can say without a shadow of a doubt,

you would want my three daughters on that sinking ship

with you.

They will figure out a way to get you out.

I am thankful for

my love of sport-

the world’s great

equalizer

and teacher.


I am thankful

that I love the underdog

and all the

stories associated with that.

I am thankful that I

had the best of times,

for my kind of traditional

personality

and my sensibilities,

in teaching.

And I am thankful for you,

and anyone else who

thinks

‘there she goes again’,

and keeps reading.
