This is a photo of my father at my nephew’s
(his grandson’s)
basketball game.
This is how he shows he is excited.
This is a photo of my brother at my nephew’s
(his son’s)
basketball game.
This is how he shows he’s excited.
There is no photo of me
because I am
pacing under the bleachers
with my eyes closed
and my fingers in my ears.
Periodically one of them might think to ask,
“Where’s Sis?”
Then they remember.
They’re used to it.
your daddy looks like a great Texas man...

ReplyDeleteI got a good chuckle from your post! Both my sons' played competitive sports and you wouldn't believe some of the crazy places I would find myself during a stressful game! These men in your life look unflappable!
ReplyDeleteMy dad had a hat just like that! I wish I had it. Love high school basketball! So much so, that I married one of the players on our team. Of course that's back when they wore those really short shorts, you know, back in nineteen hundred and eighty-one. SIGH.........

I love going to basketball games! I wish we lived near each other so we could pace together - and scream and fuss about the bad calls and then be thrilled together or agonize over defeat. I hate losing by the way. :-) xoxo

ReplyDeleteWell, I guess neither one of them will ever have a heart attack from over-exertion under exciting conditions~ lol I love a stoic man~ Hugs- Diana
