It’s time.
It’s time
to wrap the gifts-
no second guessing allowed...
no should have, could have.
It’s time, as my husband says,
to shut it down.
It’s time to
slow down.
It’s time
to remember the words of my mother,
when she really wanted my attention.
“Laura Ellen?”
Me: Yes m’am?
It’s time to share
a Christmas message
just for you.
Everything is going to be OK.

I am linking to White Wednesday.
What beautiful ornaments -- yes, today a wrapping and "wrap it up" day at my house too. Tomorrow is baking and fluffing for company -- then....just enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right! It IS time.
ReplyDeleteI am spending the day with my daughters -- out to lunch and then visiting some old haunts. A quiet day -- no mall!
Stunning images; thanks for the quiet blogging moment to enjoy them.
Merry Christmas!
Cass
Stunning photographs Miss Laura.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wrapping it up check, it's that time for me too! What a sweet message, everything "is" going to be okay.
Merry Christmas sweet friend.
Love,
Nancy
I have set my pace through tomorrow, to allow time for some Christmas baking. Working full time, unfortunately, affects my time to really indulge in the holidays and get done early. After all these years, I have fallen into a routine that works for me and I still get an awful lot done that I want and need. Christmas Eve is all about the hanging out with family and friends, so my shut down time will be tomorrow night around 9pm. Happy Holidays Laura.
ReplyDeleteGREAT message! Your pictures are fabulous, Laura.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Karen
Beautiful pictures and I love the "time to shut it down"! It SURE is time to shut it down! I am still wrapping this morning but JUST about finished! The house needs to be tidy and the grocery shopping needs to get done TODAY! THEN I can relax!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day! HUGS and wishes for the Merriest of Christmases!
great reminder Laura....stop the hustle and bustle...and enjoy...
ReplyDeleteLaura, this exactly what I needed to hear this morning so thank you my friend! I still haven't wrapped, baked or about 100 other things still left on my "to do" list, but hey it's ok! My husband likes to say...time to let it go!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas my friend!
Kat :)
Oh and PS, though I haven't comments I LOVED all of your previous posts, the basketball game, and your twitter day of shopping!
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for a while now and have really enjoyed your posts. I just read about you and spending time with Karen from Ladybug Creek. After blogging for several months with Karen, I was honored to meet her in person a couple of weeks ago. It is a small wonderful world.
Merry Christmas,
Yoli

Merry Christmas.
Things have slowed down here - it's time....and yes, it will all be alright because we are together!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice! It's so hard with girls, hard being a girl, hard to say no, even to myself!
ReplyDeleteLove all your pretty ornaments. Your tree must look spectacular!
Happy Holidays, Laura!
It really it, isn't it? Going to be OK, and it really is time! Lovely ornaments!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Best, Vicki
Laura - me too, I'm with you. Time to focus on what's here in the room. Much affection, Merry Chritmas, and all my best. Lisa
ReplyDeleteOMGosh...I thought that MyHero was the only weirdo (apologies to YOUR hubby) that said...Time To Shut It Down. Huh? Do I look like we live in a bar? lol
ReplyDeleteI am getting to that point too...only one more small tree to stick up in the girls room...lol Hugs- Diana ps. A VERY Merry Christmas to you!
Everyone is right, great photos. Your photos look like they could be in magazine.
ReplyDeleteI was briefly distracted by the beautiful ornaments, particularly the pearl one! Yes, it is time to "be still," finding that spiritual serenity in order to enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
And I am so glad that it is that time...I am ready to just sit back and enjoy my family Laura.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so lovely.
I want to wish you and your dear family a Merry Christmas!!!
hugs to you...
Hi Laura. I love your writing. The pics are great, too, but even if there were no pics, I'd still read your blog. Love your style and your message. You go, girl! Merry Christmas - or, as I used to say to my French students - Joyeux Noël! Linda
ReplyDeleteThanks for the permission to "stop"!
ReplyDeleteMerry Merry Christmas! May your stocking be filled with blessings!
Hugs, Carrie
My sweet husband has often said the same thing to me during bad times...he always can be so positive. Unfortunately my Christmas busy-ness came to an abrupt halt almost a week ago now when I got violently sick and took to my bed! Fortunately, I will make a full recovery by Christmas day. Sure hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and the most blessed New Year ever.
ReplyDeleteIf you say it's so...I believe it.
