Christmas Roles

IMG_3128

Merry Christmas

This morning,

while wondering whether the pecan pies were

ready to take out of my cranky,

temperamental oven,

(which I think has hot flashes),

I thought

I need to call my oldest daughter.

She is the expert on pecan pies.

And then that made me smile.

Have the roles so reversed,

at this time of life,

that one day

I will wake up on Christmas

morning

wondering if Santa has been there?

I hope so

The best is yet to come.

You have been such a blessing.

Thank you.

Keep a tight rein and have a wonderful Christmas,

Laura

My mouth is watering, so it MUST be done. I hear you about role reversal. I'm wondering when my kids will be ready to take over the role of HOSTING ?!!! (haha) It won't be for at least another ten years, thank goodness. Hubby use to do all of his own cooking, until we got married, and then couldn't even boil an egg -- totall different subject though! God's blessings to you, Laura!

Marry Christmas..I have passed the reins somewhat to our two older children and it is nice to see them making their own traditions...and also to not be the one cooking and cleaning up afterwards!!
Blessings for a wonderful day full of memories~

Talk about a one-two punch. I was remembering the first time Mother called me to ask about a recipe and thinking to myself I must finally be an adult. Now you've got me to thinking there is hope for me to be a child again. Thank you for that lovely gift of a Christmas memory!

I'm glad we met in bloggy-land this year. I laughed at your post as we said the exact thing yesterday as we hosted and cooked the meal while my parents made the drive to OUR house. ha ha

Merry Christmas to you and your precious family!
