My Favorite Things

favorite things button

Melissa, at the wonderful 320 Sycamore, is hosting a party that I couldn’t resist.

Here goes:

Revision Intellishade is an amazing tinted moisturizer. The color is universal.

You can not go wrong, and it has an SPF of 45.

I buy it on Ebay , and although the price may seem a little steep- it lasts forever.

It also has a very slight glow, and I am really into glow.

Trust me-

I grew up with the cardinal makeup rule of

not having a makeup line on your jawline

(were there really that many of us walking around with orange lines on our necks??).

This foundation is amazing.

I know the purists may be aghast at this, but when supper is going to be ready in 5 minutes and you are thirsty for iced tea,

you can’t beat this.

Plus, I buy decaffeinated.

I love it.

My Aunt Peggy made refrigerator tea with regular tea bags too.

Trucco Blood Red lipstick is the best red lipstick of all time, period.

I learned about it from my friend Kandy.

She knows her red lipstick.

I have to buy it online as well, but it is worth it.

I promise.

It may now be called Blood.

Charming, right?

And ,

Chanel Aqua Crayon Eyeliner.

Again, I , of the cake eyeliner generation,

which required the perfect combination of water and dexterity, have never been able to handle liquid eyeliner.

I love this eyeliner because it is a pencil that somehow works.

I do not know why.

Favorite color?  Steel, which has been discontinued.

And finally,

my best morning friend-

my Bunn coffeemaker.

As the water goes in, the coffee pours into the carafe.

Morning magic.

Sigh…

  1. SOLD! I will definitely try the foundation. I like "glow" as well. I think the red lipstick is too much for me though. It will be a fun party. I will have to think of some favorites, as well. Thanks for sharing!

  3. This list just beats the heck outta Oprah's!
One of my favorite things...in case you were wondering...Estee Lauder roll-out eye crayon. It smooths on beautifully and when one has eyelids that don't want to stay put...it's wonderful!

P.S. I still cringe when I see the masks lines. My mother would check as we went out the door. No makeup lines...and no chipped nail polish. Either leave it off totally or do it right! God bless our mothers.

  4. Oh-I don't wear red lipstick anymore-a bit too harsh for an aging blonde~;>) But..that coffee maker...My Bunn finally died and MyHero researched the best coffee maker which is a cheapo from Target...It makes decent coffee but it takes forevah for the stinking coffee to run through. I keep thinking if I use it 50 times a week it will burn out and I will go buy another Bunn. Mine worked perfectly for 10 years and just quit one morning! No fix to it! Done! Gone! Can you really be "in love" with a coffee maker? I think YES!

Glad you don't have the orange jaw line anymore. I have been using BareMinerals for about 10 years and love them. They have one called Glow (I think that's what it is) and it does give you that wind kissed look.

    Have a great weekend-Hugs-Diana

  7. I can't imagine you in red lipstick...you look like a pinky!! ;-D And I will try the fancy eyeliner but promise me you will try Maybelline Unstoppable. It truly is. I have brown eyes and wear Pewter.

We have the Bunn. It is faster than me in the morning.

    XO,
    Jane

  11. I may have to outbid you on Ebay so I can try out the foundation too, and to this day I can still not apply eyeliner so that it looks believable so I just don't. Wish I could though as I think it looks great on others.

  12. I am with Jane here red lipstick? You do call to mind pink to me. I do not bother with eyeliner as there is no time. Coffee is the most important thing of all far before makeup and I would love a Bunn.

  21. I've never tried a tinted moisturizer, but I'm game. The older you get less makeup just looks better I think. But I'm sure addicted to my mineral makeup right now.

I use my Bunn to make my iced tea instead of boiling water. Its pretty darn quick and for some reason I just don't like second day tea. Has to be freshly made.

Red lipstick can make you feel dressed up even if you're wearing jeans and a sweatshirt!

  22. Love your list -I too believe coffee is crucial to life. I actually wait in bed in the morning till I hear mine beep that it's ready -then get up!

  23. Perfect timing. I'm looking for a good red lipstick. I'll have to check it out.
