One of the many freedoms I love about blogging is changing my train of thought midstream. The inimitable, AMAZING Debbie of Talking Trash says it this way:
Squirrel!
So this morning while I was pontificating about teaching, everyone else was playing with their beautiful fall things.
I am almost a day late and a dollar short.
The Gorman print on my mantel may not be what I would pick today, but it was my mother’s and that makes it just right for me-especially the color of the woman’s skirt.
Have a great Tuesday!

Oh I love it. The picture is perfect with your other decorative items. I love how you have mixed different ethnic pieces together. I think it has such character and interest. Love your vases and the gorgeous candlestick. Your pumpkins are wonderful and I am drooling over that lamp. So pretty. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWell, I went back to take a second look, and they're not candlesticks, but fabulous vases. Gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and fun post. I love the vases and the candlesticks! Very nice! We have a print that belonged to a grandmother that doesn't "go with" anything...but my daughter adores it-as I did before her. Hugs- Diana
ReplyDeleteLaura, you fall vignettes look great and I have some orange, too.
ReplyDeleteLove that print! I am behind you, my friend, with the fall decor but I'm about to crack open some boxes and see what I can do. "SQUIRREL!" syndrome is huge at The Ranch and has become quite the catch phrase.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you did this second post. I've been straining my pea brain to leave a suitable comment for the previous post and girl...Squirrell deluxe! Sometimes you're just too deep for me...and you know how much I hate to think. It's hard for me to write a serious thought or any thought at all for that matter!
ReplyDeleteI love this! The colors are my favorites (I am an "autumn" you know)! I think your mother's print is the perfect foil for your fall decor. I'm always amazed at how you can come up with such unique arrangements at a moment's notice.
Debbie
I do like your Fall decor! I am nearly always running "a day late and a dollar short" - just normal for me. :-D
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great week.
Hi Laura! I love your fall decor! I am barely starting the fall decorating. I have huge piles of fall decor all over my living room. I will get it done by this weekend. Hopefully:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandra
I am so much the same. It's not a day late tho, today is the first dah of fall! Lol. Hey i just call it milking every drop out of each season. I have to start my fall decorating but always wait for the Irish fall festival to start. Heck i was in the ocean last saturday here in NJ. The festival is this thursday.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to visit, and I really love what you did with your mantle. It look really great, and it is neat that you have a fall looking pic and that it belonged to your Mom. I have a pretty orange carnival glass bowl, I put on my
coffee table with candy in it every Fall, and it too belonged to my Mom. So it is a nice remembrance.
You did a very nice job,
Blessings, Nellie
Lovely mantel and decor and you are right on time! It's still in the 90's here, and I can't get out of summer mode. Still swimming, boating, and grilling. I have a little surprise for you on my blog!
ReplyDeleteOooh Laura, gorgeous Fall decor going on at your place. You have such beautiful pieces to put together. I love the artwork that was your moms, I think it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteI loved Trashtalks comment...she is so funny!
Happy Autumn dear friend!
Well, it you're a day late and a dollar short I'm waaaaay behind! Lots to do when I get home!
ReplyDeleteOkay, Miss Laura... where can we find that skirt? How fabulous that would look with our turquoise. And white shirt... gotta have it!!
ReplyDeleteKaren :-)
Well, everybody is getting out their FALL decorations BUT me:) I will get there!
ReplyDeleteLove your beauties!
HUGS!
I just love your blog...always so pretty!
ReplyDeleteLove your fall decorations.
LOVELY Fall mantle!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm so behind I'm running to catch up! Seems like I always either have too much or too little to do! I love the print above your mantle.
ReplyDeleteThat Gorman print is GORGEOUS! It works beautifully with a fall decor. I love your style.
ReplyDeleteI think the print looks beautiful with your other things and the fact it was your mothers makes it even more so. I'm sitting here with no tablescape for tomorrow...so, I will be throwing together something in the morning. I work better under pressure!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love your Asian vases!
