(This is a favorite spot in my home that draws my eye each day. It may stay this way forever…)
Outside My Window… I see the work I have to do in my yard, but I just got home from helping our youngest daughter move and set up her new home, and
I can not MOVE.
I am smiling as I think about the fun we had- the times we were both probably biting our tongues to respect the other’s adult feelings- the wonderful lunches we had at Corner Market, how amazing her duplex is, how after an hour at Canton with record crowds we could both agree to just go home, and the urgency I felt.
I wanted to work as HARD and fast as I could- or shall I say
as I think I can.
I Am Thinking… that when you do not stop while driving, you can really save time.
(Do not tell my husband I said that. I reserve the right to stop.)
I left Dallas at 2:30 pm and I got home at 10:45 pm after stopping twice.
I Am Thankful For… the change in temperature . It is a signal that everything will be OK.
From the Kitchen… not much can happen until I go to the grocery store.
My favorite things to buy at Sam’s, when I occasionally shop there, are fresh asparagus, a large package with 6 heads of romaine lettuce, and a tub of grape tomatoes.
Their rotisserie chicken is the best you will ever taste.
It is also big.
I am reading… training materials. Day 3 (of a 6 day training) is tomorrow, and I will be presenting on working with parents.
I am hearing … a song in my head. I heard it while listening to Prairie Home Companion on the radio yesterday in my car.
I love Prairie Home Companion.
(I Can’t Stand the Rain)
I am hoping for …a good week for YOU.
I'm wishing the same for you!! Have a great week as we (finally) head for fall!!

Hi Laura. I love your pictures and your complicated thinking process. That salad is sounding so good to me.
ReplyDeleteGet a good nice rest Sweetie. Hugs...Tracy :)
Sweet and used rakes:) The salad sounds delicious and I ALWAYS bake the chicken! Enjoy your week and get lots of rest to get ready for the next training session!
ReplyDeleteHUGS!
Love the rakes!! You might be hard on things, Miss Laura, but it's because you throw heart and soul into everything you touch. Which brings me to your "touch" comment a few years back. Have you touched everything you own this year? I'm working on it. Hence, the booth!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be a great week!
Hugs,

Thanks Laura! It's nice to know someone else's brain works like mine, ESPECIALLY when I'm trying to write! I'm O.K., You're O.K.
ReplyDeleteYes, naps! Some days I just need my power nap. Just like a baby, they turn the glassy eyes back into bright eyes.
ReplyDeleteMy car also gets filled with soooo much also. I even carry extra blankets to cover and protect any "treasures" I might find.
Yes, yes, and yes, very thankful.
Simple women with complicated thoughts, are the best! Love that you have a cherished rake, and a big one and a little one to boot!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Miss Laura.
Hugs,
Nancy
G'morn, Laura ~ A fellow gal hard thinker, my kind of gal. Love both rakes ...

It's the simple things in life that makes us grateful. Have a happy week!

I will begin working with my new teachers this week. Two are "seasoned" and I'm not sure how they are going to accept the fact that I'm coming "to help." Hope they will understand that (1) I'm just doing my job and (2) I really want to help them be the best they can be. Pray for me!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the rakes Laura. I use frozen chicken breasts all the time for wonderful dishes. hugs♥olive
ReplyDeleteI think your rake just looks like a bit of vintage decor...put a bow on it and you have a fall decoration!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you my friend. Seeing your rake reminds me of all the leaves we'll be raking soon! Sigh!
ReplyDeleteJust like you...those rakes cannot be worn (is it wore or worn?)out...just keep on keepin' on!
ReplyDeleteI like peeking into your complicated mind...keeps me on my toes.

Know what you mean by being mem'd out! They're fun, but take a lot of energy! That salad sounds divine. I love to eat big salads for dinner and maybe I'll try those frozen chicken breast tenderloins! :) Hope you have a wonderful week, too!
ReplyDeleteWell I am so bad about my car too but ole rake has gotten a big break these last few months. lol
ReplyDeleteLaura I absolutely love my necklace. After receiving your sweet comment this morning I went back to my emails and I sent a big huge thank you to the wrong Laura. God am I red in the face right now. Wow can I do some really really bad things.
Anyway I will write you this time and tell you how much I love your necklace and Thank you so much for choosing my name in your lovely giveaway

Laura~ What a comical post. I think I missed a whole day or two of posts when I was gone. I, too, am hard on things...well...some things...like gardening gloves. However, I will tell you a trick I learned. I soak a cotton ball with baby oil (or use vaseline on my fingers) and drop the cotton ball into the finger (or thumb hole) and then my finger tips don't pop thru them as easily. Plus...I get some softening treatment cuz I am REALLY hard on my hands.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is simple-y divine! Diana
Hope you had a great time in Dallas!!!
