I had so much fun in my garden shed this spring.
The stained glass window pane I have hanging in an open window belonged to my mother.
I have so enjoyed this special place, I added a lamp and my
THINKING CHAIR.
I enjoy sitting in this chair (during milder spring temperatures), looking out the shed door at all I have done and all I need to do.
I found it at the flea market and its cane seat is so soft and comfortable.
I enjoy using this orange plastic scoop, a beach toy of my girls from many years ago, to scoop out potting soil.
I keep my potting soil in an old washtub.
I enjoy using these old pots . Their stains and worn edges make me feel like a real gardener.
I enjoy the sight of my baskets stacked.
This terracotta pot with rings on the handles is from San Miguel de Allende. I have had it for years, and I love looking at its shape.
And then there is my tiny front porch.

ReplyDeleteThe old washtub - how perfect for your potting soil! I so love seeing old-timey items, especially when used in a clever way. Isn't it wonderful we don't have to use these to actually scrub our laundry - and still we complain about doing "the laundry".
So enjoyed seeing your little brick porch floor and the lattice - one of my favorite outdoor decorating items! Delightful post....

I love your garden shed ~ it looks like it would be a good place to sit and think. I want to create a space in my yard this season that would be a good thinking spot but it's been to blame hot!!! I'm thinking it's going to need air conditioning and misters ~ I'm such a wimp!

Oh what a wonderful space! I love that it is filled with your treasures and the front porch is just so wonderful and chic and vintage! I have always wanted to have a space made of brick and sand...like the old days...when they made things to have character and charm;)!

Oh Laura, this is just wonderful. I'm so wanting a space like this. The old washtub filled with potting soil is just my favorite! Your pots and bricks and stained glass just bring it all together! I can just see you there. I'd love to see your outdoor spaces, they look magical to me!

A real potting shed...something definitely on my wish list, along with a compost bin. Such a nice space, definitely where you create!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's a fine one too Laura. My garden is just coming on. Had my first ripe tomato today and getting ready to start canning green beans, blackeyed peas, tomatoes, pickles and wild plum jam, blackberry jam and crabapple jelly.

ReplyDeleteLaura I can FEEL the quietness in your sitting space and little porch. I can FEEL the heat of the day too. It all feels personal and yours and with no one in the pictures I feel like I'm snooping almost!
ReplyDeleteI too have spots where I can just sit for hours and stare at everything around me and just not get tired of it. It's somehow spiritual.
Laura sweet, I love your garden shed. Your thinking chair would get a lot of use if I were there. Don't you find that the garden is the best place to think and ponder. I would love to go to San Miguel de Allende. I've never been. We traveled through Central Mexico (Mexico City, Cuernevaca, Taxco, etc.) when I was young, but San Miguel de Allende is one place I would love to see!
