Hello All.
We are at the beach for a week with family, and if I post, it will be because the urge to write is too strong to resist.
This trip is all about my favorite ‘lows’:
Low Profile, Low Stress , and not Low Calorie.
Today while sitting at the water’s edge under our tent, wearing my new turquoise earrings and turquoise straw hat, everywhere I looked I saw color.
It was in the hot pink case protecting Lauren’s IPod, sitting on her zebra print lay-out mat.
It was in the Guatemalan headband Katherine wore while reading her book poolside.
It was in my new Mexican dress in bright orange ( that I love because it is soft), and it reminds me of the Mexican dresses my friends and I wore years ago .
Our favorites were from Oaxaca.
Color was in my rock star grandsons’ beach bucket.
Color was in the book jacket of my beach read for the next few days.
I picked this book because of the references to the Aztecs.
I am now obsessed with the Aztecs.
Color popped off of Lauren’s beach bag- the pattern reminds me of coral.
Be back soon!

Have a wonderful time.
Keep reapplying that sunscreen. :)
Eat lots of good food including dessert.
Tell Katherine that The Glass Castle is awesome!
Oh Laura, we were just at the beach for a week, why is it that when I am in a skimpy fatsuit...I eat the most? I know you, I am sure you look hot in your turquoise earrings and turquoise straw hat, you have a way of always looking so sophisticated! Have fun with your little ones, the most fun is watching them building sandcastles and jumping in the waves and giggling like all get out! Enjoy dear friend, building memories, it's just the best, isn't it?
Love,
Nancy
I love "exposing" my friends. Laura and Nancy have been friends for YEARS! Old friends. They rarely see each other (not sure when they last did see each other). And that's a shame because they are both two extremely talented and intelligent women. Someday they'll get that visit in...
And those colors, Laura. Wonderful against those tans you gals are getting. Just make sure you won't have to make a visit to my dermatologist daughter-in-law someday.
Have fun, Laura. You deserve a "low-life". Now I didn't mean that quite like it sounded!!!
Hugs,
Karen

Well, I can see you're having fun! So be safe and for heaven's sake, enjoy the food. I need to lose weight, but when I try hard to, I just obsess over it and eat more. I'm trying the vegetarian route, because I don't really like meat that much. And reigning in the cholesterol, though I haven't been told to yet.

The beach sounds lovely. I sure do miss the California central coast and it's cool ocean breeze. Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. I'll be following you and your adorable blog. Mimi
Hi, Laura!
It sounds and looks like you are having the perfect trip!
I love all the colors you showed us. Your earrings are wonderful. Turquoise is one of my all time favorites, both the color and the stone.
I have a tiny little burial head that some tiny little Mexican boys traded me for some crackers I had with me when we toured the pyramids. The head had bits of sand in the crevices, and I've always wondered and felt like it was a pre-Columbian relic. I've seen some like it in museums. This was over forty years ago, and I can't imagine that they would have been manufacturing them to sell to tourists at that point, but one never knows. Let me know how your read turns out.
Have a great time and enjoy yourself. We aren't vacationing this summer, but I'm going to take a break to get things done on our home. It is still calling my name, and now it is calling loudly... my MIL is coming to visit! ;-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
Have a great vacation! Looks wonderful!
