Trip #2 to Warrenton

IMG_0353

In this photo it is 6:00 am- I am in the driveway at my daughter Heather’s house, getting ready for my second trip to Round Top- this time to shop.  We (Heather , Lauren, and I) have a two hour drive, and once we arrive, we will meet Katherine who is driving in from Dallas.

Some people may want to go to the moon, or travel to exotic locales, but my needs are simple: meeting my daughters at Round Top- specifically Warrenton-floats my boat.

By Brenham, I need coffee. We always stop here. Why?  McDonald’s has the best to go coffee. I know opinions differ (Heather pulled into Starbucks- we were in separate cars for more storage space).

Our next stop was Burton as we looked for garage sales.

I had just rolled my window down to ask about one I saw, when Daughter #1, Heather  shook her head- from her car- and said NO.

By this point, Daughter # 3, Katherine has called and said she is in Warrenton and will wait for us there.

Then the sibling ‘discussion’ began because Daughters #1 and #2 (Heather and Lauren) felt she needed to meet us at La Bahia to start shopping.

Conclusion? Katherine stayed in Warrenton to wait for us and Heather said:

“Mother she is doing this because you let her do what she wanted as a baby and you still do.”

My response?

I laughed. She’s right. Warrenton

                                          Katherine, Heather, Lauren

(note:  they are going to kill me –every time I took out my camera they said ”No!”  I just laughed)

Once we arrived at Bar W field, which we refer to as the desert (because at the October show it feels like it is 100 degrees), Katherine found these treasures.

She plans to spray paint the antler plaque white (White Spray Paint- it’s genetic) and use it in her bedroom for her jewelry.

After our favorite , traditional lunch at a local church food booth, we shopped some more. I took them by Debbie’s booth (Talking Trash) and introduced them, and then as we rounded another corner I ran into my dear , dear friend Mary Jo.  She was shopping with her family.  That was a real treat for me.

IMG_0370           Daughter #2, Lauren, said it was time to get moving and so we did.

It was wonderful . My feet were numb, and I was walking with a strange limp, and my cart weighed 600 pounds and had frozen wheels, but I was in heaven.

Oh, Laura. You are so blessed. I've watched the girls grow from cute little girls into beautiful women. Each with a mind of their own and their own style. You taught them to be fearless... and that they are... even of their own mom!! lol Now you weren't supposed to teach them that. LOL
Yes... more pictures!!

Oh, I wish I could have been there with you! Sounds like tons of fun. I spent the weekend slaving in the yard. Pulling up the most stubborn tree roots and laying stone paths.

I am so envious! I haven't been for years but you've really made me want to try again! I have no more space for fabulous finds- but I love the experience.

All of y'all look like sisters!! Love the comment about the baby. What is it about the older sibs? They always say that, including me who said it about my baby brother who my mother did like better and that's my story and I'm sticking to it. My son's favorite comment was always "You're gonna let her do WHAT?" or "She got to go WHERE?" or "You bought her WHAT?" Nothing more fun that raising children in my opinion, and then getting to be best friends with them later! xoxo

I've read several bloggers posting about Warrenton, so now it's on my bucket list; hopefully next year!
I agree with you, McD's coffee beats Sbucks by a country mile, and several dollars!
