My yard smells amazing right now. I wish you could be here. The orange blossoms are fat and bursting with fragrance.
It gives me such a sense of well-being.
My next surprise this morning was this.
My strange jasmine that I planted last year, that has almost reached the top of the fence, finally decided to bloom.
I love white flowers and I am humbled by the fact that this hyacinth is still blooming.
My daughter’s outdoor furniture, that she bought in Canton (I think), is on loan- due to her limited storage. It looks wonderful on the white limestone area I did last summer.
Is there such a thing as a FOREVER LOANER?
I don’t know how or why my Aztec grass survived the freeze, but it did. I am going to get more this weekend if they are available at the flea market.
And finally for White Wednesday, my lion by the back door. I think it needs a Boston fern underneath it, don’t you?
Visit Kathleen at her wonderful blog Faded Charm for more White Wednesday posts.
It's wonderful to see things blooming and hanging on after all this crazy weather. I love white flowers. I hear they glow in the dark.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the 50's and then it decided to rain. I am feeling a little glum.
Love your lion and yes, a fern would look marvelous under it. :-)
xoxo
Jane
Definitely a fern - I've been wanting one of those lion fountains for years. We are finishing up the last of three 60 degree days -headed straight into what is predicted to be 6 days of rain. But then -probably most likely SPRING!
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I could transport myself to your yard right now to smell the wonderful smells! Right now outside, there is snow storm and wind and cold! I can't even see the mountains, it's snowing so hard! I love your lion, I have always loved anything lion-ish! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks lovely all clothed in white! Your daughter's chair are gorgeous! Aren't you glad she has no room for them? LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the orange blossoms and my Jasmine has never bloomed:( Those chairs look great and when she needs them back, just buy you some just like them. It will give you something to search for. Don't 'cha just love to search for a specific item? I do! Have a blessed day dear Laura and Yep, a fern!
ReplyDeleteI love your whites...the chairs are too cool..hope they are forever loans...they look good at your place...
ReplyDeleteWhat lovelies you have blooming in your yard. I can't wait until we start to see a little life popping up. I agree, a fern is in need!
ReplyDeleteJo
A fern is needed for certain. Yes a forever loan.
ReplyDeleteYes, a fern would be perfect with the lion! I'm with Julie - I wish I could visit your garden for a few minutes to enjoy the fragrance!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think my children subscribe to the forever loan concept, "I'll just borrow this for awhile, since you're not using it." Then they hope I forget! Love all your gorgeous white flowers, and yeah, a fern under the lion!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Debra
It all looks beautiful. I love the orange blossoms. My lime tree has tons of little buds on it and if I can keep my boys away from them they will eventually be flowers also... We will see.
ReplyDeleteLove the lion fountain! Yes - a fern would look great. :) Thanks for sharing your Spring beauty. Would love to be smelling jasmine and orange blossoms about now - but that is not going to happen. The daffodils are even late this year - guess the extreme Winter stunted their growth.
ReplyDeleteMy kids know all about the forever loaner thingy!!!! lol I love Jasmine vines...I had a white clematis at the other house with tiny white fringe flowers all over it...ohhhh it had such a sweet smell...somthing about Springs first blooms that just make us all come alive inside!!! Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great week! ~Picket~
ReplyDeleteLove all your whiteness! Now about that forever loaner thing -- at our house it seems the kids "borrow" something and it's "forever" -- somehow! I wish I could smell all your blooming goodies -- Spring has not sprung yet at my house.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful white flowers!! It's so wonderful to see spring arriving.
ReplyDeleteJane
Isn't there something like "possession is 9/10ths of the law" or some such. Anyway, I think the furniture is yours! :-) xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting on my blog today!
ReplyDeleteI think your daughter's furniture looks perfect just where it is! ;) I wish we had orange blossoms here to sniff!
I am so thrilled you stopped by my blog. (I have visited Faded Charm too)
ReplyDeleteI WISH I WERE in your garden to smell those wonderful fragrances.
ALL I smell right now is horse poop. Oh yeah.
We just moved in here last June and there is Lots of work that needs to be done as far as a "yard and garden" are concerned. Not a flower to behold around here right yet. BUT that wiill change.
Laura,
ReplyDeletethe white flowers are all beautiful..oh I can't wait for Spring. WE got a foretaste today !! And your whites are wonderful. I think a Boston Fern is a fantastic idea!! Thanks for sharing with us.
I am SO jealous. Actual blooming flowers in your yard....sigh. I have a good 2 months before I see that. Gorgeous ~ Happy White Wednesday
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are so pretty. Thinks are just starting to bloom around here too. We don't get orange blossoms though. I grew up with those, but here in the high desert they wouldn't survive. I'll bet it smells wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Just so pretty!
ReplyDeletem ^..^
Laura do you know that I have never smelled an orange blossom before. People say that the Idaho state flower smells just like them. The syringa, but I want to come to your place and see if that's true. My gosh girl, your pictures are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your daughter 'forgets' to remember that the patio set is at your house. I think it looks like perfect, and I'm sure she will too. hehe
I love the concrete lion. Is it a planter or a fountain? I've been looking for a wall foutain like that, but I'm afraid that the sound of the running water in the garden will make me want to go potty all the time.lol
hugs to you sweetie
My big kids are known for forever loaners..ha ha...is that a Confederate Jasmine? Yes a fern would looke great in the lion!
ReplyDeleteLove the furniture! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, bring on Spring!! Your daughters chairs ARE wonderful and look great on your limestone area. I created a little patio using mulch but was thinking maybe the limestone needs less replacement over time... Hmmmm something to ponder for my spring projects! Thanks for the inspiration... Theresa
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures, and how lucky to have the fragrance of orange blossoms all around! I think a fern would look beautiful beneath your handsome lion!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
So beautiful. I could sit and smell the flowers forever. The aroma practically jumps out from your photos.
ReplyDeleteWe are back to winter's freezing temps again. Already lost so much this year in my yard. I'm worried about my blueberry bushes.
Laura, Beautiful flowers, your pictures are great. I am waiting for something to bloom here.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well at your house.
Barbara
Your flowers are amazing! I bet they do all smell good!
ReplyDeleteLove all the white....you didn't spray paint the flowers, did you (LOL). I love the idea of a fern with the lion, and hope the furniture is "loaned" for a long, long time! Linda
ReplyDeleteThat lion would look super with a fern underneath! Get a perennial that won't die next winter.
ReplyDeleteYour white jasmine is beautiful; I'll bet it smells heavenly, too!
I am so jealous of your white in the yard...mine came in the form of fresh snow this morning...sigh!! They say spring will be early this year but they obviously were not including us here in northern Canada!! lol Happy WW!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ Urban Whyte
What a relaxing place your yard must be. I can't wait for Spring to arrive here..I so miss my flowers!
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Angie
I'm so glad you found my blog....looks like we have a lot in common. I check yours out almost everyday. I'm still trying to learn all this blogging stuff!
ReplyDeleteLoved visiting your yard. So wishing for spring! I loved your banner too.
ReplyDeleteHave a Blessed Thursday,
Sherry
What an incredible blossom. I am not at all familiar with this plant, but it sounds like one I would like to get to know better.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blossoms and a Springy post for this bleak WW in Minnesota. Enjoyed it immensely. I'm sure Spring is making its way slowly to the Midwest. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGretchen
Your garden must feel so loved! Oh and my vote, yes! It would look just lovely graced with a fern!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful yard you have. Your spring is much more advanced than mine! Enjoy it for me and send some my way, please. :D
