I know that you- like me- have all rounded a corner, wherever you are exploring, and honed in on a box of something that seemed too good to be true.
It is the unexpected perfect storm- the SOLD feeling in junking and thrifting- what I call EXPLORING- that matches wonderful with quantity with ‘I can’t believe the price’ with the amount of cash in the pocket.
The flea market I frequent did just that one weekend about 2 years ago. Boxes (I bought 3) of mismatched, tarnished silverplate, all for $80.
And so my treasures sat, until I began the process of going through the boxes and pulling out what I wanted to clean first.
Those boxes produced most of this.
This pattern is one of my favorites.
But then so is this.
But then I also like this (and these, and these…).
I have a real fixation on bread and butter knives, completely unrelated to the fact that I enjoy bread and butter. That is NOT a good fixation.
And then there are teaspoons. I have a real respect for teaspoons- the workhorse of all flatware.
But then I love salad forks- and serving pieces.
I mean who thought of creating slots in this spoon in the shape of a flower?
Sigh…I give up.
Go see Beth at Gypsyfish Journal for more Silver Sunday treasures. Thank you Beth.

Oh! These are gorgeous! The leaf pattern is calling my name, lol! I could see these on so many pretty tablescapes... Love 'em all!
Hi Laura! Hope your trip was great. You landed a real deal for all this wonderful silver! I found a box once of silver just "dumped" I ended up with some beautiful pieces. It's just like a treasure hunt! Have a wonderful Sunday.
love,
Debra
Hi Laura
Great find! Love love love the different silverware. My daughter one year for my birthday bought a beautiful set of old silver and monogrammed all my kids and grandkids initials on them. One of my all time favorite things.
Blessings
What a thrill to find such gorgeous silver in those boxes. All of your pieces are just gorgeous. Love them. Hugs, Marty
What beautiful pieces of silver!
beautiful pieces...have a great Sunday
Laura, really wonderful designs. Really does the heart good...julie
"workhorse of flatware" - I LOVE (and my steal) that line!!!
I cleaned out my kitchen a couple months ago and found a bundle of silverware, waiting for me to figure out what to do with it. I also found one of those advertised on TV aluminum plates to clean silverwear -so chucked it all in the sink, boiled the water, added baking soda, and it worked perfectly. We now have real silverware to eat with. My favorite's are the serving pieces - the big forks and slotted spoons.
Yours are gorgeous and I think my mother has the ones covered in leaves.
Mornin' Laura,
Isn't our job/passion one of the MOST rewarding. Imagine, you got all those wonderful diamonds-in-the-rough and you're using them to boot! This really makes me smile to see such beauties!
Have a great Sunday, Laura

Beautiful silver pieces. I pick up what I can, when I can and I have become insatiable!

Those ones with leaves on them are awesome!
I wish I had a flea market like yours!! And I do appreciate your work in cleaning up your treasures! xoxo
It is funny, Laura... this morning as I was looking around at some of the silver post, I remembered a box of silverware packed away that was my Mother-in-law's! I am going to search it out this week. Yours are all soooooo pretty. I love the different patterns. Sweet serving spoon with the holes in the shape of a flower. Enjoy your weekend dear friend!
What a pretty collection of silverware. I would have more silver if I did not mind polishing it so much.
SCORE...sometimes you just have to be in the right place at the right time....serendipity is wonderful! You have a great collection there!
Happy Silver Sunday, xOxO Nerina
Wow what great pieces you have in your collection! So pretty!!
Miss Blooomers
Laura, now that is a fabulous COLLECTION! How lucky to find 3 boxes...have you finally gotten it all polished? I have 4 soup spoons in the first pattern you have shown us...I am awaiting a book, Cass of That Old House, recommended so that I can identify it. I got sick of going through each page on Replacements, Ltd. to figure out a pattern, click, go back, click, go back!
Thanks so much for sharing.
Talk about the Mother Load! Who'd have thought you could buy boxes full of heaven! (I'm with you on the bread & butter thing too!;)
m ^..^
Love your collection. Wonder if the slots were for a reason? Is it a serving spoon? That would explain the slots. Happy Silver Sunday.
Oooh, that must have been hours of entertainment going through that collection! Love the mixmatch!!
Laura,
Oh my goodness what a true treasure box you found! All such lovely pieces...all so different, but lovely just the same. I haven't been so lucky, perhaps I need to tag along with you! Thank you so much for sharing!

Well Laura you definitely hit the motherlode with these beautiful pieces of silver. I love it when things like that happen to me ,whether it be at a fleamarket or estate sale or yard sale.

Laura, what a fantastic find. Like you, it's difficult to pick a favorite. But how fun to mix these on a table and have a different set at each place setting. Thanks for sharing! I always enjoy my visits to White Spray Paint.
I love them all too!!!
Oh now, just 'fess up...you're a silverholic! ;-)
I was ooohing and aaahing with every pic!

Hi Laura, yes I know that felling and it's addicting. My name is Rebecca and I am a junking junkie! Such wonderful box of silver treasures you found. They are all beautiful. Happy SS
What a lovely collection of silver you have. I am crazy for silver too. It brightens things up so much this time of year.
Hugs,
Sue
okay... so my fixation is on ice tea spoons... I think it's something about the long slender handles... girl you find the best stuff... and in bulk no less!
happy week! Dixie
Oh, Laura! I have to be restrained from buying old silver! LOL! YOU obviously made THE haul of the decade with that box of beauty! Some of the pieces I have patterns that are the same, some I enjoyed seeing for the first time in your photos! Fun post!
Thanks for visiting. There is sort of a path that winds thru the store and believe it or not - same type things are sort of grouped together. They ask you if you are looking for anything in particular and can send you in the right direction. First time I had been in years, and then it was at a different location.
Fun store to visit.
Have a great week.
great find Laura.....and those can be repurposed like Anthropologie is doing - pounding them out and making plant markers - so cute -
Fabulous find, Laura! Beautiful silver treasures and I love them all!
Love your silver flatware! Sorry my Sunday Silver visit is so late but I do love your silver post!
xoxo...Kathy
