One of the things blogging has freed me to do is show the less than perfect, because after all that is where the best living takes place. Some of my best living takes place in my garden shed.
This is a small peek.
It is here where I do some of my puttering and planning. I have great plans for this space-
*my own little patio outside its doorway
*a fence to enclose the patio
*a stenciled rug on the concrete floor
This is where I store my garden tools and whatever else doesn’t have a home.
This is where I also store my flea market carts and beverage holder for Canton and Round Top trips (when I remember to put it in the car).
It is where I plan, play, and ponder.
This shed is the source of my dancing in the yard music.
If you haven’t tried dancing in the yard, I strongly recommend it.
Your music machine needs to be old. Older boom boxes have the best speakers. My husband has listened to many non-televised football games and Indianapolis 500 races , while sitting on the patio listening to this radio.
This is where I keep some of my older, worn treasures from trips to San Miguel de Allende.
This is also where I get lessons in humility- because nature and heat and gardening in South Texas can be a very humbling experience.
I am joining Fertilizer Friday at Tootsie Time. What better day to talk about gardening than when it is freezing outside!
I think it is beautiful! I love all your decorations, such wonderful treasures.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh... I feel right at home in your garden shed! I can see me puttering around in there and sharing stories with you! Blessings and warm wishes from chilly Georgia!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome space! I am yearning for spring too! It will be here before we know it!

Laura! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteand btw; if you did sit at my kitchen table, I'm sure you would be covered in flour and constantly pestered to color your favorite flower by little precious......
Oooohhh Laura, I love this spot! It looks just perfect to me! Tell me about your "writing on the wall". That really adds so much character to your place! The chandelier and string of lights, I just love it all!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a great day, dear friend!
I'd love to join you in "puttering" there. And, did you all have the freeze last night?
love ya, Debra
What a lovely place to call all yours! I totally agree with Ms. Woolf,"A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction."(or garden!)
ReplyDeletePS Have a great weekend and try to stay warm.:)
you have great treasurers...
ReplyDeleteIf your potting shed looks that great, I would love to see your house! Amazing! I want a shed like that! I hope this year I can finally have one built! I need a place to play and ponder!
ReplyDeleteLove the "Martha" sign....so appropriate. I am sure this is a place where you rejuvinate yourself from time to time. We all need that in order to properly function in this busy world.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend...it is cold here.
Your potting shed looks like the you I imagine you to be...not a lot of clutter but beautiful just the same.
ReplyDeleteHave a great (and warm) weekend, Laura!
xoxo

Love your little potting shed, but especially that sound system! It looks like one of my old ones and you're right about the older speakers. That Martha Stewart sign made me laugh. Stay warm, cher!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gardening shed. I love all of your little pretties you have around. I like the Martha Steward sign. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little potting shed! Love the stained glass window and calligraphy quotes & words ~ perfect ♥
ReplyDeleteOH! That incredible candle holder ... love it the most!
ReplyDeleteYour shed is perfect... loved the writing on the wall...and all the birds, feeders, and bird houses...I love things with curly ques.
ReplyDeleteMy sheds certainly aren't something I can blog about...
Lee
I love your shed! I think it might need a coffee maker though, and maybe a place to sit and make a list. that boombox is cracking me up.
ReplyDeleteI want your gardening shed and all the stuff in it!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea that you have given me. I will have to show my shed in an upcoming post. Right now with all the snow, I can't get inside. I built a little brick patio in front of my shed and I love it. There is a bench outside to sit or place pots on and inside the shed with the 2 doors open, it is an amazing place to be during a thunderstorm on a summer's afternoon. Is it spring yet?
ReplyDeleteHi Laura, I can't think of anything I would have rather done today than hang out in your shed with you. This is a beautiful space...yes, I think it is just beautiful! I adore my garden shed too, although it dosen't look this good, but I'm working on it.
ReplyDeleteI love all your beautiful things that hang out in here.
hugs
Laura, this is such a delightful shed. So inspiring to see what a shed can look like if you put a little effort into it. And I love the idea of dancing in the yard (as long as my fences are high enough!). laurie
ReplyDeleteahhh, this is so wonderful. I think it ought to be a law that EVERY woman have a place just like this. I LOVE IT !!
ReplyDeleteHi, my name is Cindy, I found you from Just a bed of Roses. Thank you for sharing with me your shead and your plans for it. I love it! I want one too.

I am absolutely loving your shed treasures!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteI want a shed like that! I love all of your decor inside too.
ReplyDeleteThat's some garden shed!! So pretty! Miss Bloomers
ReplyDeleteL.B., I was just about to tell you that you needed to go visit Tootsie...great minds really do think alike, huh?
ReplyDeleteI love it and just like Debra, I am crazy for the words. I have a little garden house Cat Daddy built me from left over everythings. It's more a playhouse than anything...just for me to daydream in. It also catches everything that I don't have a place for inside, but can't bear to part with.
Dancing in the dirt...does it get any better?
I told Gloria all about your trip to Athens and standing looking in the windows. She said the next time y'all are planning a trip to Canton or anywhere close to Athens, just call a day or two ahead and she'll open up for you. Heck let me know and I'll join the party! She really hated that we weren't open when y'all came by.
Debbie
I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's very beautiful and calming. I'm afraid mine is dark and a total mess. I am longing to get out there. It's going to be awhile. We didnt' even hit zero today.
