Remember when your children were little and they made huge messes while playing? I know I do.
I have a crate of headless, naked Barbies, Cabbage Patch dolls, Care Bears, and My Little Ponies to prove it.
Where is this headed? Tonight while watching/listening to television and flip flopping during one of my distracted spells, I started playing with my dishes.
Boy do I have a big mess. Is this a tablescape? Hmmm. The details are listed below.
I bought the black chargers 90% off at Hobby Lobby.
The tablecloth is a Ralph Lauren tablecloth that I have had for years, purchased on sale at Ross.
The silverplate is from that huge box I bought at the flea market. I love it.
The napkins are also from Ross, and I like the fact they look like raw silk- my all-time impractical, favorite fabric.
And the dishes are from TJ Maxx.
I am off to Scarlett O’Hara my mess and think about it tomorrow.

Go visit the amazing Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for the real thing for Tablescape Thursday.
what a gorgeous blog!
ReplyDeleteDang Girl! I had my eye on those chargers at HL for some time now and I can't believe I missed the 90% off sale! I wanna cry! They are really beautiful and your table scape is so classy and tailored and everything is beautiful!

ReplyDeleteI don't think it is a mess. I love playing with dishes, isn't that what the tablescapes are all about??
When my girls were little, I bought them china tea sets. A lot of them because pieces would break or get lost. Think of the little tablescapes that could have been made on the Little Tykes table with mix matched pieces. They were lucky~my tea sets were plastic. Maybe that is why I kept buying them more!!
I love the black and white dishes. I just bought a set of dessert/bread plates from a girl that got them at an estate sale. I need to make a mess because I haven't figured out how I want to have them be in a tablescape.
Goodnight...
xoxo
