Welcome

front door (5)

I may be ‘tardy for the party’, but I wanted to participate in Karen’s Doors of Welcome at her wonderful blog Some Days are Diamonds

Doors-of-Welcome-Button5

front door (2)

I have always loved the combination of red brick , a black front door and brass accessories.

Although my front door may be simple, due to the fact that our current daily temperatures are in the 90’s, I feel like fall is here.

And- while out in the front yard, I spotted these.

     Pecans on our pecan tree.

Love the wreath--it has all the elements I like for fall decor--leaves, pinecones, berries, pumpkins and gourds--it's perfect!

Hey Laura, well, I'm partial to black doors, ours look so much alike. I love the house numbers on yours! Your wreath is beautiful, sorry it's still so warm down there. Now, I have a question, Miss Texas, how do You pronounce "pecan"? Is it pee-can or pee-con, or even puh-con? Just wondering....

Your entrance is very inviting, Laura! It must be nice to sit out there on the wicker chairs (when it is not steamy!). Yellow mums are my favorite and I love your wreath!

Looks great! Trade you the hickory nut tree that hangs over my courtyard for your pecan tree - at least you can eat pecan! :-)

I have exactly 6 pecans on our baby tree this year and I wrapped them in plastic mesh to make sure that I get them before the squirrels.

Hi Laura...Your wreath is very pretty on your front door! I remember when we lived in Laredo in Oct and yes, it was warm and we were still swimming in the pool it still felt like fall but it quickly changed once Nov came along. A pecan tree would be a wonderful thing to have!~Patti
