Foodie Friday

Foodie_Friday_Logo_2

The kitchen is clean.  Tonight is the last night of a week long visit from our two grandsons.  Everyone was tired after a trip to the zoo…IMGP0138

So…This seemed like a really good idea.

IMGP0141

  IMGP0147

We always begin with chips and salsa, followed my my usual, the regular Mexican plate (one enchilada, 1 taco, 1 chalupa, rice and beans).

IMGP0151

Our grandsons had nachos and the enchilada child’s plate.

IMGP0150

As my first participation in Foodie Friday, this may be slightly non-traditional. Taco Ole for us is great food, family, and fun . That seems to be the essence of Foodie Friday, right?

For anyone who would like to try some authentic Mexican food recipes, I have a post in my archives that discusses a wonderful cookbook (see May 2).

I live in New Mexico and some kind of Mexican food is always on the table. I have a red chile recipe on my blog. Check it out. Geri

I cook with a Mexican style often. We like the many different chili spices, ancho, jalapeno, chipotle to name a few.
We don't have any good Mexican style restaurants where we live.

Laura, after two grandsons at the zoo all day, I'd have gone to taco ole too! Actually, we ate Mexican out tonight. Chimichanga - that's what I always get. :)

Looks good except for the refired beans. Can eat them, but not crazy about them. After a day at the zoo, I would not have cooked either.

We do love Mexican food too. When my daughter visits from New York City, that's the first place she wants to go. Target is her #2 request.

We have some really good Mexican food in Chicsgo, the best being of course, in hispanic neighborhoods. I'm not much of a Mexican food cook either, maybe I should take a look at your post & the cookbook.

Sounds like you had a wonderful ending to a wonderful week with those kids!! It may be a little too quiet now! ;-)

Great Laura, I'm reading this Thursday night {almost midnight} and now I'm craving Taco Bell...pondering if I should get out this late or not! ;) Those pictures are mouth watering!

Now since the kiddies are gone, does this mean it's rest time for you???? ;)
Have a great weekend~

I'm so glad you've joined us. I'm sure the boys loved that last meal before going home. That's one of the cleanest kitchens I've ever seen:-). Have a wonderful day.

Works for me! I am always exhausted by day's end with the grandchildren:) Plus I'd rather spend my time playing than cooking.Beginning August 5, I will be hosting Crock Pot Wednesdays at Diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com, and I hope you will join me. THERE WILL BE PRIZES:)!!!
