Garden Party

Even though I am out of town, I wanted to participate in Kimba’s Garden Party at A Soft Place to Land.

My garden has been my main project for months now.  I remember my mother once told me you can either work on your house, your wardrobe, or your yard, but it is really hard to do all three at once.  I agree.

This is my husband’s finished outdoor grill that I had done out of limestone for Father’s Day. I also had a small walkway added.

I plan to add low maintenance (is there such a thing???) plants along the walkway.

What leads to the grill is what really makes me smile.

Nice job! I agree about the work thing. I could "work" in my garden all day and never feel like I've been working. Housework? YUK!

looks great and yes there are such things as low maintenance plants, I have a few of them. Thyme would do well there, there are all sorts of kinds of it. I love it! I only have time for the yard during the spring/summer. I only do housework when it rains or it is 100 degrees outside! LOL! It is too hot right now to do yard work mid day. So now I have time to get housework done

karen,

This looks so great!! Your husband is going to love it! It reminds me that I haven't gotten out to get my husband a gift (ugh...)

Low maintenance~hmmmm. Hostas. Although you see them everywhere, nothing can kill them. They come back every year (where I am from, after the winter) and they bloom once in mid~summer.

I wanted to get back to you on the timer for your sprinkler. You can buy them at hardware stores or try gardenerssupply.com You hook it up to your outdoor faucet and just set it for when you want the water to go on or off. Let me know if you try one and how it works.

Sending good wishes to you and your family. Hope the surgery goes well.

xoxo

Good job on the grill and walkway, Laura! I love it. We're going to have something like that on our back yard area. I like your design.

Praying for your hubby's quick recovery...

Hope your hubby is going ok. You guys did an EXCEllent job on your grill, I hope you enjoy some tasty meals prepared on there. Your pathway is beautiful! Did anyone else mention Thyme for low maint. plant between pavers? lots of varieties and they smell delish when you 'step' on them.
